Mostly because I get off on fat chicks asking me why I am here.

Yet I am still smart enough to stop listening to/watching/fucking/eating things that I don't like.
Enjoy your cage.

Not to disagree with yout but, really, Open Lines just means the ability to talk to people and care enough to listen to what others have to say and respond in kind. Have a conversation, in other words. And, like in real life, sometimes you get into one that you don't enjoy but, also like in real life, if you make every conversation about you (and what star you ran into, your background, your "new" studio, etc) or simply "dump the caller" you will find yourself with less and less conversations to get into and find yourself talking to the same people (who for some demented reason tolerate you? Psychic vampirism?) over-and-over. How many callers now are the same tired, sycophantic, or lonely people? What every happened to a limit for a particular caller? (Having said that I don't mind some frequent callers, but you get my gist.)

Syrette spent the entire first hour of the segment quizzing Strassman on procedural trivia that I cared nothing about. I did not really care that the propective subjects were interviewed for an hour or had rectal temperature probes during the tests. As I recall there were several times where the guest began going into the more interesting areas of his study, and Syrett jerked him back to mundane crap with a trivial and prepared question. The first hour didn't include one word on the topic; the "prophecy effect". If Syrett interviewed Elon Musk on the new Tesla, half of it would be how the door locks, seat belts, and turn signals work.

Syrett's show with the biologist (Nature is trying to kill you) was very good.

Dave was pretty good tonite, despite hitting a sour note when he mocked one caller's cell phone connection after he'd just told a rather traumatic story.
Also, I don't buy this hippy-dippy theory that ouija boards are some kind of mirror that just "reflect back to you what you're putting out". I think they're alot more how someone else on coast once described, that it's like showing up at a bus station at 3am and asking around if anyone feels like chatting - i.e. you just don't know what you'll run into.
I for one had mostly positive experiences, which personally I'm totally convinced were real encounters, but decided to quit while I was ahead and haven't gone near them in many years. I've said this before here - ouija boards are not a "game".

Agreed.
I was disappointed to hear Dave say as he closed out the show tonight that he would be back at the end of the month.
Best case scenario is that maybe he'll be doing the Halloween show, but what do we have to look forward to between now and then?

Whaaa? Lostincyberspace2012, you mean the guests on Coast are all shysters who are peddling crap in order to make a few bucks? Oh my gawd! I never would have realized that! You have an incredible grasp on the absolutely obvious.
But hey, some people find it entertaining to listen to. Even though they know it's hooey. Sometimes it's mildly entertaining hooey. Crazy callers and all. Except when Jorch hosts the show, then his bumbling incompetence, smugness, inability to pronounce simple English, fake laugh, and complete lack of knowledge of the subjects he's been "specializing" in for 14 years, proceeds to irritate the crap out of people.

Dave does a great job......I wish he would take the regular host chair......or at least more than one or two nights a week.
SAVE US DAVE!!!!

This thread shows exactly why GN is still on the air and Premrat loves him. People come here to post how much he sucks, yet these same people still listen on a nightly basis. Why, why why?

I wish there was a secrut gubmint anti-Dave plot...

I left the radio on in the kitchen purposely. This way every time I wander in to cook, do dishes, grab a rag or pour a drink (the portions that I have caught made them all doubles so far) I hear the crapfest that is Coast.
So far I have heard how damaging vaccines are, that homeopathy helpful in the "environmental medicine" field and that 50% of the population suffers from thyroid problems. I think anytime I hear that something affects 50% of the population my quack meter goes off. Add to that the fact that symptoms are rashes, baldness, low energy, sore muscles or joints (and I think breathing) and you have yourself a pandemic. Quick Dr... Help me!
How sad it is that even a different host cannot help coast.
