No more code  ;)

I think I preferred the cryptic message. :P

Notice the bottom has his hardly used twitter handle.

Arthur Belle. He's on the 6th Sunday of every other month!  :)

Now that's just unpossible. He will be appearing on every 3rd full moon of a month called the Bell Moon.

I noticed in another thread that we have a few Whovians here.

I thought this would be a good place to discuss the good Doctor considering this year marks the 50th anniversary of the show.

So I guess anything goes here. You can tells us who your Doctor is, your favourite companion, favourite story? When did you first watch the series or your earliest memories of it? Who is your favourite villain/monster? Did you hide behind the sofa?

Do you have any stories in relation to the fandom of Who such as meeting the actors? Or any other Doctor Who related stories.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll kick things off.

Tom Baker is my Doctor but I have a soft spot for the first 3 as well. I love watching classic Who stories but I can see how the pacing of them just doesn't suit the modern era. I have enjoyed the rebooted series and an eagerly anticipating the announcement of the new Doctor.

My favourite companion is Sarah Jane Smith but I must admit I had a crush on Leela and Romana I.

My first memory of Doctor Who is the episode Planet of the Spiders which was John Pertwee's final episode. The Spiders on the backs and the chanting were so creepy and gave me nightmares for weeks. I had no idea that it was the Doctor's final episode and that he was going to be replaced and that this wasn't the first time this had happened. I was mortified and didn't want to accept it.

I must admit the Daleks are my favourite monster and I used to watch the first 1960s movie over and over as a kid. I also used to watch the 20th anniversary special The Five Doctors on loop too.

I met Tom Baker in the late seventies or very early 80s when he came to Australia and appeared at a shopping centre. I had a photo of him which my folks still have in an album somewhere (I must reclaim it someday). He put his iconic hat on my head and wrapped some of his scarf around my neck too. I asked him if he came here in the TARDIS, as only 5 or 6 year old would, and he said yes and pointed over to a door that was marked staff only put his index finger to his lips and said "Sssshhhhhh". That literally made my year. To this day whenever I visit that shopping centre I still look at that door marked Staff Only and wonder ........

My other semi Who related story was when I was 8 or 9 we used to ride our bikes all over the neighborhood. There was this one lane way behind some houses that we used to ride down. One day my brother pointed out the big blue door that was visible behind someone's fence along with other junk and told me that that was one of the TARDIS' doors. I of course completely believed him. It was even still there up until last year. They must have had a clean out because the TARDIS door that I used to drive by even as an adult just for nostalgia's sake is no longer there.

Anyway enough from me over to you.

I went to a bachelor party recently and we had dinner at a microbrewry where you could choose 6 different beers to sample. I can't remember which was which as I was too drunk at the time. But they looked nice in this photo I took.

What does being on Satellite Radio mean for the non-US citizen/resident that has no access to Sirius XM?

Are satellite radio programs available as "podcasts" post show? Would Art be able to sell those shows via a subscription like Streamlink on the net after it has been broadcast? Do other Satellite exclusive shows have "podcasts" available to download?

If not hopefully one of you good sirs could do an Aussie a solid.

That is if anything happens of course. A cat dating site where cats choose potential suitors for their owners is still my hot tip.

I'll take my answer off air.

Hey everyone,
I am currently building up my collection of shows from wherever I can find them. I've got a good deal already, but I know there must be some people with a lot of rare shows that aren't freely available on the internet.

I'm basically looking for people to contact about obtaining shows. I've already hit up many people (malacoid, funklbaldy, mv, etc), but I know there are more who have stayed less visible.

Years that i am most interested are:
Totals current year totals:
1992 : 1 (not really expecting much more)
1993 : 1
1994 : 19
1995 : 45
1996 : 34
1997 : 100
1998 : 62
1999 : 64
2000 : 27
2001 : 89
2002 : 91
2003 : 44

As you can see, I'm really hurting for 95,96,00,03 shows.

My end-goal is to make the best and most complete Art Bell torrent around. I'm tired of seeing torrents with random shows, random dating schemes, and 9 parts to them. All of the shows I have are merged into single files and labled yyyy-mm-dd - Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell - topic - guests

If you would like to contribute or know someone who could help that would be great. Thanks everyone.

Just sent you a PM.

Wow. Some of you seem qun disturbed, aboutite angry, and even disturbed about Art's WANNA TAKE A RIDE? message etc.. "Oh after the ??? then the !!! I don't think this current message means anything. It's just a buncha..." Well, how about the "??" meant "Will I/Should I return?" then the "!!!" meant "Yes, ll!"I shall!" which would then lead to his anouncement. Either way, if you hate Art so much, or feel you're being "taken on a ride", how about you stop checking his page? If he returns, someone will surely let you know.

Love you Art Bell!

Those of us who seem "disturbed" are in fact huge fans who are jaded as a result of the many recent cryptic teases and false starts. Having said that this latest cryptic offering seems to offer the most hope with the artbell.com URL activated and Art's offering that this is "exactly as it seems". If the rug is pulled from under us again sure there will be anger but at least this time we'll be prepared for a big bowl of disappointment.

I swear if Art pulls the old bait and switch on us again and comes back with a lame "not yet" I swear I'll be so mad I'll erase every last motherfucking show of his on my hard drive.

Well maybe I won't go to that extreme but I will batch rename all the files artist names in iTunes to Fart Smell.

Damn you Art don't disappoint us again. I would prefer that you keep your mouth shut until you have a deal signed than getting our hopes up and disappointing us. It's just cruel.

Art posted the following on Twitter a few hours ago which echoed his posts on Facebook (mentioned here earlier) but added in the infamous stay tuned.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a massive fan of Art and if he has a new show or podcast I will be listening. If it's just a blog I will read it. If it's a site dedicated to the worship of cats well ..... I'll visit from time to time. As the poster on the wall of Fox Mulder's office read "I want to believe". It's just that over the past year and a bit we have been strung along and left bitterly disappointed. Sure Art does not owe us anything but to continually leave bread crumbs that end in a trail of cat poo is losing it's excitement value.

Art if you are lurking, please give your hardcore fans a sign, preferably not in Morse. ;)

As much as I want to believe every utterance this guy makes, this cryptic bullshit has gone on for too long without much result. A few punctuation marks, an emoticon and some lines of morse code just don't cut it. I will believe it when I see it until then I will remain open mindedly sceptic. I've had my fill of cold hard disappointment when it comes to the master of the cryptic Art Bell.

I just had 2 very spooky Google Ad experiences. I was thinking about taking my family on a beach vacation at Christmas time and then I visited a site that has Google Ads embedded like on this site and the first ad to great me was from airline soliciting me to buy cheap flights to the Gold Coast (in Australia).

A few minutes later I came onto this site and was browsing whilst thinking that I need to get a roofing guy in to take a look at the roof leak we have had at the office and what do you know but an add for a Roofing contractor came up on this site.

Now before you say that some of these ads are interest based and take my browsing habits into account, I have not ever looked up a roofing contractor on my computer nor have I searched or browsed sites looking for cheap airfares.

Am I being paranoid or is google employing mind control onto an unsuspecting population?

I guess not as I have never seen any ads on here for naked pictures of celebrities. ;)

Agreed. If the Morse code "Wanna Take a Ride" had appeared instead of the ? and the !!! I would have been doing backflips. Now I'm just doing half arsed cartwheels and then sitting down to take a breather.

heh heh heh.

iPhone users who use Tunein Radio can still listen using the app.

1. Go to this page on your iphone and hold down your finger on the first link.

2. Four options will pop up. Select the COPY option

3. Now open the TuneIn Radio app and go to the Favorites tab down the bottom

4. At the bottom press ADD A NEW CUSTOM URL

5. Paste the URL that you saved in step 2

6. Click Search

7. Select the Custom Stream that pops up.

8. Stream should start then click the Heart icon in the top right of the screen and enter a name for the stream. This will place a bookmark for the stream in the favorites tab.

Enjoy

And thanks Linden.

the local government around here is so stupid that they sometimes install stoplights that have no sensors whatsoever.  completely timer based... as if it's 1971... so the idea of being able to change the lights by flashing my high beams is just unimaginable.  it would be like presenting a 16th century english peasant with velcro.

I wasn't referring to flashing of high beams to change the traffic lights (is that even possible?). I was referring to cops who are sitting at a red light and not wanting to wait like the rest of society will either turn their siren or flashing lights on in order to stop the rest of the traffic so they can get through only to then turn them off and continue slowly on their way to get free McDonalds (which actually happens here).
