Favorite "Non-Paranormal" Interviews

We all know that Coast to Coast is mainly a paranormal themed show, but every now and again, they'll mix it up. What are the best non paranormal interviews?

My favorites are:

Patrick Combs - The guy who deposited a junk mail check and the bank honored it.
Leland Gregory - Whacky 911 Calls.
George Carlin - Need I say more?
R. Gary Patterson - Rock and Roll Stories.
Desert Chad - A guy Art interviewed in the infamous Mojave phone booth.
Remy Stern - Ian interviewed this guy talking about TV infomercials.

a few off the top of my head, I can fish out names and dates if really needed =

indeed, R Gary Patterson is one of the best
bonnie crystal talked to art about caving - I mean REAL caving.
another bonnie, talked to art about playing out wargame scenarios for norad (pre war on terror)
Ian had a guy about floating garbage patches - not as dull as one might expect.
Ian again - the poisoner's handbook.
Neal Adams, talking to art about expanding planet 'theory'
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Jason the man who thinks he's a horse...

what, no noory? ummm... there must be at least one, surely?

Eddie Coyle

Thaddeus Russell   "Renegade History of USA"
Adam Gorightly      "Shadow Over Santa Susanna"
  Howard Bloom, despite his pontificating

All were conducted by Ian, BTW

whoa, anyone have a copy of this?

R. Gary Patterson
Dr. Ron Mallett (unless you consider time travel 'paranormal')
Howard Bloom (minus the pomposity)
David Blume (the alcohol as a fuel guy)
Nicholas Meyer (wrote and/or directed a couple of Star Trek movies - very interesting guy)

Frys Girl

I loved the interview Art Bell did with Chris Carter. I'm not saying that as an X-Phile either :) it's in my regular youtube rotation.

I would say the Interview Norry had with a Guy (forgot his name) he was a sea captain, he was on when the gulf oil leak happened.

"Desert Chad - A guy Art interviewed in the infamous Mojave phone booth."

Ohh, the phone booth...I gotta hear this one as well. Thanks for bringing that up  :D

That was Kelly Sweeney, who I think was interesting at first, but wore out his welcome by being on the show almost every day during the BP disaster.

I'd like to hear the mohave phone booth guy as well.

I think you and I are the only ones here who liked the guy who thinks he's a horse.  I was totally prepared to shut the radio off when Ian announced that topic, but I was fascinated by him.

I also second R. Gary Patterson (with Ian, not Snoory) and a lot of the quirkier topics Ian tries out, like the floating garbage, the rogue waves, the poisoner's handbook, the Renegade History guy, etc.  I liked the night Ian wound up doing 4 hours on missing people when he intended just a first-hour interview about the musician Jim Sullivan who disappeared.  And I'm probably the only one who likes the D.B. Cooper updates.

George Knapp's non-paranormal topics have also been great for me.  The show on the missing Patrick Carnes was right up my alley.  Unlike many, I enjoy his wild horse updates.

The best thing about Ian and GK doing non-paranormal topics is that they don't choose Snoory's non-paranormal topics, meaning they don't always

**bad mouth western medicine in favor of quack cures
**spread fear porn
**tell listeners the sun has cured more cases of melanoma than it has caused

and general crapola in that genre.

OMG, I just thought of one.

I do like listening to Jim Marrs talk about the Kennedy assassination, the monkey research, etc., even when Noory's got the interview.

I know Marrs can be a kook and that I have to tune Noory out completely, but it's better than listening to some idiot tell me one night I can be healthy only if I eat  A, B, and C but absolutely no D, E, and F--->then hear another moron the next night tell me I must avoid A, B, and C at all costs and stuff myself full of D, E, and F.  I swear to God that happened.

Chupacabra

I never heard the phone booth call, whats it about?

Harmness

David Kaiser, Jack Sarfatti and Fred Alan Wolf, the "hippies who saved physics."  Great show, and the guests were articulate.

CoastCanuck

Within the last couple of years, on a Saturday night, Ian interviewed someone who claimed Sonny Bono was murdered.  That was a fascinating interview, IMO.

BobGrau

art's interview with leanord nimoy was really good. you can hear nimoy's voice brighten up when he realises he's having a conversation rather than being interviewed. the essence of a good show.

Mel's hole was good, and not paranormal at first. You could tell Mel was making up the story as the interview went along.

The show Art did on caving was awesome and really captured my imagination. Art was really surprised by a lot of what the guest had to say and as a listener I felt the same sense of wonder and awe as the guest described this amazing subterranean world. That one really sticks out to me as a great show.
