I don't deny that.  All my preferences have been changed too.  But every post on my screens under Toad or Jojo was written by me.  If the registration date was the date of the problem, that would not be a complication but more of an explanation.  Maybe someone got frustrated with me because I kept trying to get my password to login - - even though I'd already struck out.  I just didn't want to have to reset it.

Who were you intending to type to with the above remark?  By the way, this is Jojo.  Someone changed my name going forward but not going backward, even though I remember that most name changes affect past posts.  I wouldn't be going on about it if I'd be given a decent name, or the name I requested a while back.

On my very regular visits here from the late 80s onwards, I felt CNN was the closest America had to Auntie Beeb. It was news and reporter based. That has changed. I think in response to Fox it has allowed itself to drift and has become a station of ‘shows’, each with its own celebrity presenter. It’s ‘Breaking News’ agenda sometimes remains unchanged throughout the day. It’s lazy. Sometimes Fox during the day carries a wider spread of news, though its evening hours are hi-jacked by the propagandists and Fox And Friends is just ludicrous. There is a dearth of serious journalism on display across America’s news channels these days.
Some of this is a bleed-over from radio and the rise and domination of conservative radio since the abolition of the Fairness Doctrine. And I would not wish a liberal dominance either.
It’s weird because Sky News in the UK is Murdoch owned but does not have the right-wing bias you might expect. It much more models itself on the BBC, I think because they know that’s what the British public expect and demand.
America’s political ghettoisation I feel is a reflection of this media split. The sooner this country has a truly independent news organization, the better.

I did request a specific new name a while back.  That never happened.  I would still like it.
