Follow-up story Columbia, South Carolina Rescinds Decision To Criminalize Homelessness. I just didn't see how the original plan, which included forced busing, could have been constitutional.

Interestingly enough, ol` Steve Colbert is a relatively conservative, Catholic guy, from the great state of South Carolina -- although you will never hear him say that publicly as  It`s bad for business.

What's sometimes lost is the difference between being personally conservative, and the need to codify said beliefs for everyone else to follow. He would do just fine financially working an opposing view, O'Reilly being the perfect example.

Christians are the low-hanging fruit

This I don't entirely disagree with. Regarding Islam, surely there must be room for satire while avoiding the 3rd rail. I just don't see it much here (US media).

Thanks! Good to see you're still active.

The "college" didn't ban anyone - it was the head of the diversity group who sent out an email asking whites to stay away. She, btw, is white (go figure!), and has rightly taken a lot of criticism for the idiotic announcement. School administrators have since cancelled the event.

I discovered the show a few months back and enjoy it very much. The IQ level is miles beyond C2C (yeah I know, its not a high standard). The commercials are annoying but listening to past downloads allows for FF>>

We are going to have to disagree, too bad there is no real way of proving it.

Thank you for avoiding an appeal to ignorance.

They should have prosecuted the top managers at the investment banks - among others - instead of bringing them into the Administration at Treasury and the Fed

We don't often agree but on this point i'm with you. I do believe however the worst is behind us.

Ron Paul , George Carlin, Bill Hicks speak the truth (MUST SEE)

Interesting in that clip Ron Paul touched on justice for all, and there was Rand today echoing his dad while criticizing mandatory sentencing. He along with Christie should make for excellent Rep debates. And i'd take either over Hilary.

No need to read the whole thing. Translated, it says, "No more Federal money for our illegal para-military police units to terrorize citizens and illegally confiscate their property in the alleged pursuit of a meaningless 'war on drugs' ? Noooo!"

About damn time.

Go see "Elysium". Immediately

I 2nd the suggestion - forget the tired political angle; villain-of-the-year Sharlto Copley makes it worthwhile.

Recently I was fortunate to be recruited by a company that appears to have their shit together, and they're hiring. If anyone has banking, real estate, or mortgage experience and is interested in work in Orlando or Boca Raton, FL or Denver shoot me a PM. And GL to you SR-71, there's wise counsel on these boards.

Just a few is enough to sour your day. Couple weeks ago I came home and heard a buzzing sound coming from the back sliding glass doors. Somehow, about a half-dozen bees had gotten in. After killing them with bug spray, I returned an hour later to find a similar number inside again! WTF?? Killed those, and looked outside to see where they were coming from but couldn't find the hive. Checked for holes, nada. They didn't return but never did find out their origin.

I think he just doesn't have the interested, as I don't see a big time conflict. The kid in school excuse doesn't make sense for several reasons. One, he can rest mornings because she's in class. Two, she goes to bed early which leaves him the late evenings to work if he chooses. Should not be difficult to broadcast while she sleeps and to sleep when she's in school. And three, Art can make his own schedule. Where does it say he must compete in the C2C time slot? And does he really need a big payday at this point?

... and in case anyone missed this very thorough study from early this year:

QuoteResults showed that overweight people were six per cent less likely to die during the average study period. Mildly obese people had a five per cent lower rate of premature death.

According to new research this week in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), researchers say that being overweight may lead to a longer life."We published an article in 2005 that showed, among other things, that [being] overweight was associated with lower mortality â€" and we got an awful lot of negative feedback from that," Katherine Flegal, a senior research scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the study’s lead author, told Time.

Before you go make a lard sandwich keep in mind it was the slightly overweight and stage 1 obesity that showed benefits - the significantly obese group did result in lower life spans. And they measured mortality, not a specific cause of death. But isn't mortality the bottom line? Still, results run counter to the line we've been fed - no pun intended.

With rare exception - John Edwards comes to mind - does infidelity sway my vote. We place too great a spotlight on their personal lives as is. Sanford ran a better campaign and even with his past came across as the more "real" candidate. Maybe because of it.
