Okay I made Amy's thread active. Time to depart. See everyone tonight for Hoagland! Keep it active for, Amy so she has a good show. Be nice and have fun. Hugs and kisses
...and together we shall rule the galaxy.

Shostak is the worst and has delivered nothing.
Its like the programmer than hangs around the office and talks about how shitty every language is (except some obscure language no one uses) and puts out four lines of code per day.

Boris Karloff.

Bunch of Boris Karloff movies on TCM all day tomorrow.
Cool. Hadn't checked, but was wondering when he was going to come up.

Burn! 🔥🔥🔥

Hes like the guy that brags what a great shot he is, but when you get to the range shoots like shit claiming he "only shoots his own handloads".

I used to love this guy back in the day when Art interviewed him. I was so excited for the possibilities. I remember running SETI@Home way back when it first came out on an old 486. Now I'm thinking they're not going to find anything.

Just for the heck of it, I installed SETI@Home briefly on a new custom gaming build on an i7 extreme. I was blown away at how fast the program analyzed vs. way back then.

yeah it's discouraging ... although Seth says we've just scanned a tiny portion of the sky.  actually I wish during interviews he'd be asked more about other general sci questions, like he covers on the big picture science podcast.  btw seti@home is a diff project i believe

As I recall yes it is a different project. Still I was blown away at how fast it ran on a new build vs. back then. Yeah I wish he'd be asked other sci if questions too.
