What do they do with sour cream when it goes bad?  Is that where cottage cheese comes from?

a meal fit for an emporer.

Is that what happened all the Emperors? Because there don't seem to be any anymore. Were they all gorging on MSG and autolyzed yeast?

I heard it.  It was marvelous.

Just an excuse to post another picture.

its like the hoagie crowd in here tonight   all hail   19.5
I could use 19.5 slices of bacon right now.  Nothing against sour cream but about the only time I eat it is in french onion dip.  It'll no doubt kill you but, damn, is it good with Ruffles.

The line between yogurt and sour cream is very fine.  Such discrimination!

Yeah, well you can keep all of the yogurt that tastes like sour cream. Leave me the drinkable peach yogurts. That shit has crack in it. I'm serious.

Interesting take on the whole thing. However, do you think that if Art would have stayed that the level and duration of "nastiness" would have increased?  With him gone, many people got bored and moved on.  Others will shortly.

I suppose that it may be the "art bell fan forum" in that there are more Bell fans here than there are other places.  I guess I just never considered it a fan forum (and as much as I like Art, I don't know that I am a "fan" as such...)

You have a point.  The more ART posted after 'quitting' the more fire he drew.  The more suppressive fire the fans put out the more vile shit the Trolls put out.    He may of had no other choice. in his mind, but to pull out.  I think what bugs me, is how he pulled out.  And seemingly, put the blame on us....possibly because he didn't know, except for a few premier trollers, who was who.
And then in his final post, whined....and walked.

And yes, I believe that this is the largest gathering of BELL fans on the interhell.  Take me, I'm a fan, but no fanboy.  Some of his shows, IMO, suck.  But do I want to listen to the ART of suck via BELL or the ball curdling suckage that is Noory?
Let me think.

Why do we feel compelled to come up with new words to describe things?  White knighting used to be called calling an asshole an asshole.
.  White.  Black . *Shrug* Fuck those knights.

Yeah it basically ruins how I think of Barfly now, which also sort of ruins the braaps community in a lot of ways. At least for me. There won't be anymore Happy party threads for awhile.

I know people who used to do sex work, I care very much about them, and for someone to come in acting like such a thing is bad really pisses me off. Especially someone whose entire forum persona is about porn and prostitutes.
I care about sex workers, too.  I like to support single mothers.

I was making a joke with Norland. He mentioned stripping music and it was the obvious response. If it was Barfly's show, and someone made that comment, I would've made a similar joke based on his own forum posts.

There was no malicious intent and it really pisses me off that I, the fucking SJW on these forums, get attacked for it.
SJW.  Sorry.  Drawing a blank.  Unless of course you are the fucking Single Jewish Woman, and in that case, I'll have the bagel with lox, honey.  And a cup of coffee.

To be fair Art never directly blamed Bellgab, he always said 'trolls' and that this form wasn't what it used to be. I agree that Art had to leave because trolls and tempers were just too high. Even his Merry Christmas post was met with a fair degree of hating trolls.

I think MITD was great and everyone seems to be saying it was shit now just to get over Art leaving. I thought it was some of the best Art Bell since 2002.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this but I wanted to ask if anyone could explain what the deal was with "The Fantastic Forum". I remember back in his C2C days Art would give shout outs to that forum all the time. I see now that it is a ghost town. Was there some sort of drama behind all that or did it just slowly fizzle and die after Art left C2C?

It seems like BellGab is a much more dynamic and fun place than what I ever recall FF being. But I only visited there on rare occasions.

after the owner died, a chunk of the forum's membership split off and created a new "fantastic forum" which was so restrictive that you couldn't even read it without being signed into an account.  the original forum was eventually sold for a mcdoald's gift certificate or something, and from there its slow erosion continued.

i recall signing up for an account on the FF in early 2006, and i was banned before submitting my first post.  the place was a funeral and i don't understand how it ever took off to begin with.  i don't know this firsthand, but i have been told that the fantastic forum's "management" would banish anyone who didn't parrot their liberal democrat beliefs.  supposedly.  correct me if that's wrong.

Thanks MV. It always seemed like a "funeral" to me as well, even back then. I never even bothered to sign up for an account. I would guess that the few active members it had migrated over to here after awhile.

Aside from FF, do you remember the Usenet group? I haven't seen it in years but there was an "alt.artbell" something-er-other group where people used to really hammer Art for being a huckster. We're talking early 2000s but I'm sure it went back into the 90s if not even 80s.

MITD was as good of a show as any Art did.

That article sounds spot on with what I remember. There really weren't any actual fans of the show on there that I ever saw, just people doing a MST3K type thing but a lot more harsh.

When I joined in March of '03, The Fantastic Forum was the liveliest Art Bell Forum going.  Art still had C2C and the Original Radio Room (the live chat thread) was always packed.  Art did post there from time to time.

Fast forward to the noory legal debacle.  FF took a hit, and I think it was not long after, that BadBoy was banned.  That's about the time he started the NightHawk Zone.

Fantastic Forum has weathered many a horrific storm over the years, but this last time that Art quit, Fantastic Forum made port and dropped anchor.

It is sad for me.  It was the very first Forum I had ever joined, so it is special to me.    :'(

Cool history, thanks Starr. I guess earlier on it was still going strong. I didn't know it had it's own live chat as well. Never heard of "NightHawk Zone", lol. And not sure I know about the Norry legal stuff. The only legal thing I remember is Art suing someone over things said regarding his son. I guess these things are a whole 'nother thread.
