For some reason, I seemed to recall that was more like 1915... I had meant to look for some of the supposedly still existing damage when I was last in NYC (but forgot...)

I used to think that the Statue of Liberty had viewable damage from the Black Tom explosion of 1916 but I guess not.  It did receive $100,000 worth of damage though, and the torch has been closed to the public ever since.
