She can give me a head shot.

I would hope at least you'd try and shoot back.

I have been playing Astroneer non-stop for the last week, but have now, sadly, come to the end of what one can do in the game for the time being. It still has much development to come, so I must put it aside for now. In the meantime, this is the type of game I love, and am looking for good substitutes. Any suggestions? It has to be single player, mostly about exploration, crafting and building, like Astroneer, but without the ass-numbing pointlessness of No Man's Sky.

I'm so glad Ian's still alive and back braving it out on the podcast. It sucks without him. Fucking Pat made me think he died or something.  ;D

Nerd alert on a pretty good podcast. These nerds drill down deep into gameplay, lore, and technical innovations during the golden age of gaming.

Is it prerecorded or live now?

I watched the Walking Dead this past Sunday and 'Yars Revenge' was brought up by the character known as Eugene.

It brought back memories since I totally forgot about it even though I used to play it.

Nah just canned podcasts.  They've got a bunch in their archives going back years.  More than anyone would ever listen to lol.

As I remember it, it was a hit for its time but the dude who wrote it got tangled up later with the E.T. fiasco.

Cool! I'll check it out sometime. I used to listen to this but I think they stopped doing it now:

I know how that feels. I used to listen to https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/continuecast which was sort of like a bookclub for games with some interesting discussion (especially for Bioshock Infinite). I think there was some internal drama between the hosts because they haven't made any new ones for years (same for the sister podcast which discussed syndicated tv shows).

Sounds fun but No Quarter is all about arcade cabinets.  8)

Can't imagine there being much fodder for discussion there unless they're in Japan playing in their arcades.

I got only a little ways into it before I got distracted with something else.  It has pretty amazing graphics and a sort of beautiful but creepy world.  I should probably give it another go since some people really love it.

Yeah, I fucking love that game! You really need twin sticks to play it properly though but most modern gamepads have that now.

I enjoyed it, but you can tell the game is very different to what they had in mind during development and it is very linear as a result. I prefer it to the original Bioshock because the setting is colourful with open spaces compared to Rapture's close-in, dark and decayed underwater city. Storywise it's a bit so so. Has some great music covers though:

If anyone wants to join my squad on Battlefield 1 (PS4) pm me. FYI: I don't use a mic.

Maybe this guy's not such a tool after all. This looks cool and I might consider getting one if the price isn't too outrageous. I have a feeling it will be though.  ;)

I consider FF7 one of the greatest soundtracks in all of vidgame history.  Stumbled across this kick-ass acoustic cover of its main battle theme.

I'm hearing over the top reviews of the new Zelda game. Will you be buying a Switch?
