Yeah, I thought she'd have improved somewhat by now too. The shows I have caught, seem forced on her part. ....

I think she really cares alot, and really wants to make the show good in Art's tradition, but I think in a way that's what's wrong with it.  It's like she's spending too much energy and stress trying to ~produce~ a show, rather than just ~do~ a show.  When she was on gabcast she was charming because she was just having fun, and chiming in with all kinds of off-beat thoughts.  But that personality seems suppressed as she tries to roll out these formal news segments, political observations, long-form interviews etc.

Basically, to me the show just doesn't feel fun and lively, even though I know she can be a fun personality.  I hope she finds the right vehicle for being on radio but I just think it would be something different and more quirky than this format Art pioneered and perfected over decades.

Tell me you don't want to wrap your lips around this?

Watching some of those Japanese game shows, I have the same uncomfortable feeling as when a minstrel act shows up in an old movie.

Just kicked on the stream and Zep is playing. Good sign. Heather sounds a bit more enthusiastic tonight. Cool.

Break-away civilizations. This is Joseph Farrell territory.

Anyone used to watch that show "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" where they dubbed goofy English over that old Japanese obstacle course game?  Used to drink many beers while watching and laughing at that one.

that depends on how "know" is defined.

Socially? Psychically? Biblically? Don't think the last. Almost all of them were pretty memorable

If by red bean paste you mean natto, UGH, worse than balut. But the JN's do put a sweet bean paste in a "pastry/sweet cake" called o'mochi in the prefecture I lived in.

Maybe that's a better way of putting it. It may be that she tries too hard and when she does that, it sounds fake. From what I've heard so far tonight, she seems to be enjoying herself. That makes for much better radio. Her cadence is faster also, which tells me she is actually interested in the subject matter.

*Tesla mention*

The interplay tonight is actually pretty good. Heather can think on her feet when she wants to.

lol natto ... just looking at it sours the appetite.  I've gotta think they mean the sweet kind.

Hey wait a minute, what if we're not the indigenous species on this planet and the so called 'aliens' are the original landholders. No one ever brings that up. It's always aliens, aliens, aliens from outer space.
