She was a kick on those old gabcasts.  Fun, upbeat, whimsical.  I wonder if she may have been more attuned to a team setting, were she could just kind of chime in w/o taking on the whole burden herself.

I know what you mean; she came across as a cool chick.  It's interesting to speculate why she's so different now.

Just winging at it, it's possible that, lacking any other paradigm for how a lone woman entertains a crowd, she fell back on the old teacher/student one which, with its power differential and didactic purpose, is singularly unsuited to late-night radio.

Unsuited because the power differential means it's concerned with preserving order, when a certain chaos is the lifeblood of a caller-driven, late-night show.  This is what gave the spitballers such a field day in the beginning.

And the didactic purpose changes her from a fellow explorer of mysteries, like Art was, to another woo-peddler, joining the guest to tell us all how it is.

Mr Rowland is a "tech" guy; he should've stuck to that and only that. From what has been said/posted there are many instances, that illustrate his inability to relate to other people. He has no business being a program director, negotiating deals, etc.
This points back to what I posted earlier about the MITD "Organization".
It's a disaster, with no clear, sensible corporate structure, or vision.
Proof? Look at the mess that has happened, that's proof enough.
The whole sordid mess should be a case study in business school: How to tarnish/destroy a brand, without really trying.

I used to like Redacted on the GabCast, and now I can't stand to hear her speak for more than about 10 seconds at a time.

I have not been able to quite put my finger on why.  The voice affectation she developed for MITD doesn't help, but there's more to it than that.

This is a good point.  We want to feel that we have a certain camaraderie with the host, that we're wandering down the various paths alongside them.  A host's general sense of inquisitiveness, which mirrors that of his or her audience, is much more important than organizing info dumps.

A cousin stepped into a dream that I was having to tell me she was worried about her kids that were going to drive to Mexico on spring break .She did not want them to go.My dream went from a dream state to something else all together it no longer felt like a dreamand re occured the next night.Once I told there father about it ,I never saw her again.
