Midnight In The Desert

Auslandia

I listen to the show on 1 1/2x speed  and it actually sounds pretty good.

This has been mentioned on many other threads too. Alright peeps, sound off. Would you like a male co-host for Heather (point - counter-point), or a female co-host (watch the lesbian rumors fly.)
Come on now - get real.  When Art co-hosted w/ Heather, there was no end to the fucking disparaging remarks here.

Personally, I think a co-host would add to the show, as long as they didn't try to dominate the program. Heather takes lead, when she hits a pregnant pause, the co-host kicks in.

This would work good until she gets her sea legs - so to speak.

i dont care what it is..a co-host will not help until there is a competent producer to get better guests..the only thing about her that bugs me is the over dramatics ...the really..awful laughing at everything and nothing...and the over talking of everyone..but the main issue since the start of MITD has been guests

Is this for real?
Psycho Lusha crowned a "representative from Art Bell's MITD radio show".

Bait and switch again?
YES, use Art's name.
They love to hear the name Art Bell.
THROW ART'S NAME AROUND A LOT.

meant to comment on this last night..isn't that misrepresentation if you are calling it Art's shjow

One would think so.
I'd love to hear what Art has to say about it.

Yep, sounds like the "I hate you" challenge was to get people to call in and tell her how much they love her...

"Kiss my ring, please."

Has Ms. Wade started playing UFO Phil, yet?

Why the fuck would you take your cat camping?

I used to take my cat, Simba, fishing and hiking with me all of the time when I lived on Mt Baldy.  He'd ride in my backpack when we'd go for a hike.  Sometimes he would startle people behind me, when he'd suddenly poke his head out to look around. ;D

Roswells, Art

I took my two cats to the beach once. They loved playing in the sand. It was really cute. When I was done there they followed me to my car and jumped in.

My cats would take off in a heart beat. No bird would be safe.

I'm with you 100%, my friend.  I listen for the guests, not the host(s).  I'd listen to George with a guest I'm interested in before I'd listen to Art with someone I care nothing about.

For a long time I could deal w/ Noorie if I liked the guest.  But at some point I couldn't tune him out any more, and I'd find that often the better the guest the more annoyed I got at how mishandled the interviews were.  Nowadays I pretty much can only tolerate LMH shows since she basically monopolizes them.

Glad you reminded me.  Up at bat this Thursday.

Fukushima and Nuclear Issues
Thursday - March 31, 2016
Hosted by George Noory
Guest(s): Linda Moulton Howe
As we pass the fifth anniversary of the meltdown of three nuclear power plants in Fukushima, Earthfiles investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe will discuss the ongoing issues of that disaster. She'll examine why nuclear engineers warn that Fukushima can easily happen here in the United States; another potential nuclear reactor threat due to more than 30 different nuclear reactor-powered satellites orbiting the Earth; and a new NASA space propulsion proposal that would bypass nuclear problems altogether and speed up travel time.

Get your creeper bumpers ready, Jorch!

Completely different situation though. Art has been solo since the beginning. Heather is a newcomer and still trying to make the show work.
Good point. Art's show was 'Art's' show. The trial run w/ a co-host flopped.
Heather needs a co-host to pull her through the pregnant pauses until she gets more experience.

About five years ago, I gave up on Norry interacting with callers. So it was just the opening news and the interview that was tolerable. Then I gave up on the news. The last straw was an excruciating interview with Kaku. There's no guest or subject matter that can make George listenable for me at this point.

I think a male co-host would be worth a try, but they would have to have a sense of humor.  You'd need someone who can have some fun, to give it some variety.  But I can't imagine it would ever happen because I think it would be like admitting  defeat  a little help never hurts.
FIFY
and I say male not to be sexist, but...add another (inexperienced) woman to the mix of the show and I could just see the trolling being even more extreme.  Also, having two sexes just makes sense to me, if they were going to go the co-host route.  But what do I know, I'm just a guy with a turkey sandwich.
Ditto.

Up this coming Friday on George's show.

Date:   Friday - April 1, 2016
Host:   George Noory
Guests:   Open Lines

After a shocking first time interview, the three-headed person returns to the Coast to Coast AM microphone for a special update. Followed by Open Lines.

This was stupid the first time around and George is going to do it again?

No fucking way in hell or the five vices will I ever subject myself to the scourge that is George Noory, ever again. I don't give a flying fuck who his guest is. Snoorge can suck my left nut and give me a reach-around and I strill won't tune in C2C.

tell us how you really feel lol

I'd like to see Falkie in the second chair.  As evidenced on his EODR appearance, Falkie is like a thoroughbred running back, capable of delivering a riveting 3-4h performance. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of semi-believable bullshit and the bombast to shutdown anyone who dares to question him.  He needs a quarterback to call the plays and give him direction and I believe HW is more than adequate for that role

The problem with that is Falkie is so good that eventually Heather will be blown off the show by his talent and charisma. His BellGab rants are still some of my favorite things ever.

Plus there's the money factor involved with fixing this show. Do they have the money for Falkie?

Falkie should be the new host of MITD altogether. He has star quality. I was glued to my computer during the entire EODR interview and even listened to his interview a second time. I don't know what it is about that unpleasant, crochety bastard. He's the Whitley Streiber of the Section 8 set. He can spin a yarn and you are nothing more than a moth drawn to his flame.

Agreed.

Motoflou

I just tried to give last night's episode a chance, had to bail after 10 minutes.

I can't get over how slow the pacing is.  I keep wanting to yell "ALRIGHT ALREADY, GET ON WITH IT."  I can't tell if she's trying to do a particular voice for radio, or if she's worried about saying every word clearly, but jesus, it was driving me nuts.  And I'm new to Heather, I don't have any grudge or predetermined opinions.

But nooo thanks.  Not ready for nap time.

Maybe it was one of these that sent you over the edge:

"I just don't get the Big Bang!"
"Space is really amazing isn't it?"
"Will we ever get the answers?"

Oh, yeah.  That went well.  ::)

I wonder if he'll try something this Thursday.  Being the eve, he may not be able to resist.  April Fool's Day should be renamed to Dave Noorie's Day. He should do a "Shecret Door" that night and see if he can guess who he is.
