heh, Coca-Cola at the moment.  I am saving the Beam for James Burke later (want to start that one listening sober for sure, and drink accordingly as the potential Hoaxian meltdown dictates.)

Hit me up later, I'll buy you a shot!

Cheers!@

I may have to start without you - apparently I'm not adequately disengaging my critical thought processes...

It might have been something as simple as trying to airbrush out one of the places that the Russians crashed their "probes" into in order to not provide them with photographic evidence of where their craft ended up.

Just a thought.

Edit:  here is a list of all the lunar missions for any country. Note the number of failures.

Yeah that's a good thought...I'm seeing a lot more failures than successes there, haha

I'm actually excited for James Burke. Been a while since I've been excited for a Hoagland show.

Hoagster up against a legit science historian...yeah this could be hilarious...   ;D

Heather has the same boring statement at the end to every guests , ..."I wish we had one more hour
to talk about this"

very fucking original Heather , very !!

Jackstar

Classy, bassy, adequate: choose any two.

I will check that list for any "secret" launch facilities.  Thank you!

heh

Search google earth along eastern seaboards. You get 900mph free by launching directly east.

few days ago I did check all the listed stations , aprx 50% of them had no more listing of
MITD in their show list.
I tune in to aprx 15 stations listed, and was no MITD, ...so ART is full of Heather's sweet shit

Over the weekend (when I'll have the time), I'll go and check out each station they have listed on the website and see if they're still airing MITD.  I'll let you all know what I find out.

PBS already did it recently. She found 15 still on, 15 off. She made a thread somewhere about it today.

I made mistake and didn't marked [on paper] each stations status in respect to MITD,
that would be solid proof I could post here,..I just looked at each site.

Maybe you will consider doing it.
Few stations don't have even websites listed, must be 20 listeners shit hole radio station.

Loaded

Friendly suggestion for Heather.

It's a 3 hour show with minimal commercial breaks, so there is plenty of time to chew through the subject matter that the guest will bring.  I think the intro needs to be a little slower.  For example, after the Chase concludes, take your time with some light thoughts, opinions, or observations.  Maybe comment on a news item or two.  It's the same as if you're going into a long meeting with a group of people.  There's a few minutes of chatter before jumping into the subject matter.

Some nights it feels like the opening monologue is just right and welcomes in the listener or a long discussion.  Other nights it feels like the show races head first into the subject matter without a proper "good evening, glad you're here tonight".

I am enjoying the progress I am hearing as you (Heather) grow into the host position and gain experience.  I was set to cancel my MITD subscription last month, but now I will stick around and the show continues to improve.   :)

I didn't realise she had an 'opening monologue'. Does she chat to the bandleader as well, before riffing on the news of the day? All you are doing is stating the obvious. Quite why it didn't occur to either her, or Art, to do this just illustrates what a shambles it is. If you are offering her these 'suggestions', however friendly (which ought to have occurred to anybody who was doing an unpaid gig on hospital radio) doesn't it suggest that she is not really up the job?

Is it acceptable that a show (previously hosted by one of the on-air greats) is now being entrusted to someone who requires coaching from her audience? I can't remember anyone being so indulgent towards a rank amateur before.

But, of course, she is doing a wonderful job and keeps going from strength to strength.

Man that Adamski show was the first one I've gotten fired up about in a while.  There were so many missed opportunities for a righteous grilling which were never seized upon.

I couldn't suspend belief enough to actually pay attention to it. Maybe someday.

Hey star. Should I turn off John B. for this? He's pre-recorded, but he's live in my heart.

Given how many people have asked for it, I'd say a fair amount of people care. That said, they probably wouldn't if she hadn't been so adamant about maintaining anonymity from the beginning.
