Midnight In The Desert

Anyone actually following this guys trail? I'm in Aokigahara, someone throw me a line back the trail.

WOTR

Just don't know if I can continue with this twit jerk.  Citing fallen angles messing with the genome in the days of Noah and equating it with them messing with the genome today is getting a little much.  The statements with absolutely no evidence are wearing a little thin...

Maybe he did, i have listened since the start and have all the archive shows, i just get kinda tired of the same music all the time.

I think he played it on dark matter the radio show.

Donald Noory

At least she's not playing Rush. Douchebag Ayn Rand fans.

No, the full song. Oates is a pillow biter.

Lord Of The Rings bedtime story tonight.

I was thinking some of the bump music would change when he came back, i knew he would play some of the old regulars he was known for but i was hoping he would introduce a few other tunes
I recall hearing on NPR or CBC (I know, ok) saying most people in some survey like the music they grew up with, in particular as teens, college. I have no knowledge or references. But I know some examples (I hit every Motorhead show even when they quit.) But also love, appreciate "classical" and folk music. And "old" country. But then, I think, what was I taken too as a kid?

I've heard, and so have you, some crazy good stuff on "cheap" or, at least, well-used instruments. Not to say, as I said that a pro/virtuoso, can tell (and/or listeners) can tell. It also brings up the, heck I'm throwing IEDS here( ;)) digital, analog, etc stuff for recordings and manipulations thereof (which have gone on for ever since the recording media existed) versus live listening and the venue.

Well, if what you're asking is, can a very experienced musician hear things others can't then hell yeah.  We can.  ;D

But the commonly understood reality is, between the very good cheap guitars and the high end ones, in the hands of a high quality musician, there's a marginal difference in quality of tone, and only the biggest cork sniffers would give a shit about it.   ;D

Digital is a whole different topic.  These days, when you hear "classical" music in movies, you're usually not.  It's sequenced with samples.  Also, amplifiers (for guitar/bass etc.) are also moving out of the picture.  Nowadays people use amp simulators like Amplitube, Guitar Rig and Overloud to record.  You can switch amps, cabs and effects on the fly.

So you could make a Les Paul sound like a Strat.  No problem.  Or even a bass.  :)

YIKES! Now he is referring to LORD OF THE RINGS. Dwarves, elves, giants....

Oh, he is going for the punch! Jesus is coming because fallen angels are messing with the genome. So in other words, ban all stem cell research in the USA?
I have never seen any of the Lord of the Rings flicks, i have a penis.

Heather... now you sounds ridiculous. Next up she's gonna sell some paranormal vitality to pair well with that Artic Chaga.

Probably, but there've been several obvious chances to call him out. She has the ability to do that. She seems to be being easier on him than I'd expect.

I don't know, does she have that ability? Does Noory? It's really an art (that word again) to do it well, without insulting people or getting their backs up. RCH was an unearthly challenge for Art (or anyone), but it was still entertaining. And not having this ability is like walking into a jungle without insect repellant.

I think it could be defined as "safe" music

Dark times for sure. This is painful. Money, time, and possible sleep wasted.

Yeah I had high hopes of getting through this and getting Art back, until some vile POS made a bunch of demonic posts and Art bailed on Everything.  But by then it was already getting dicey because the trolls were posting hateful shit in droves all week, creating an illusory consensus that we all had it in for him and Heather.

Weirdly though, I'm listening more diligently than ever.  Even to this guy's perverse bullshit.  Wtf is wrong with me?

I went to the first one and I also have a penis.  It's not a huge penis, but it's not bad, (that's what she said).   ;D

Train wreck... cant help but watch. Part of me keeps hoping Art will come back and say everything is fixed. The reality is... the dark-ages have arrived.

Evidence, what is this, 'evidence' you speak of?

So in keeping with derailing threads...aside from pickups, amps, etc is there much of a difference between guitars when electric and solid? I know there is? But really based on science (unlike hollow or stuff like fiddles etc where, holes, reverb, types of wood? And even other guitars. Frankly, I'm suspect. BUT, can accept that to a really good player, virtuoso etc it can make a difference. But to the normal, run-of-the-mill makes a difference? That huge Steinway make chop-sticks much better (but in your house with no acoustics designed?)

Yes, bodies alone and even necks alone in solid body electrics can have very different tones. I once swaped necks on a Strat from a very thin one to very thick beefy meaty neck and it became a completely different sounding guitar. I could actually hear the woodiness of the new neck in the tone.

Is possible, but I'm getting the impression that the trolls are starting to burn out already. They're still around, but the air already seems cleaner this week.

They were putting in ~20hrs/day.  Even trolls need to catch up on all that lost sleep.  It was like frickin feeding frenzy of hatred, anger, and paranoid horseshit all day and night all week long.  And some still tow that line.

What a coincidence! I have been playing with my penis during this interview. I can multi-task. The pictures on the internet that I am viewing have nothing to do with elongated skulls.

This is part of the paranormal. This show covers the paranormal. Art had stuff like this on his show 20 years ago. I remember it. Just the way it is.

Call in. Challenge this moron.
