Yes. Geriatrics are crazy about the Lyft app.

No but they don't grouse about their lives quite as much as you though...but almost. ;)

You should prescribe yourself some codeine, doc. Lighten up a bit.

Oh, I'm having a good laugh at you. It's probably you who could use some drugs (obviously). ;D

But ScifiAuthor demonstrated a shitty imagination, sir.

Also, Dave getting triggered by Alex Jones was completely off topic and lazy af (parroting fake news, appealing to authority by citing frivolous lawsuits, muh 'boots on the ground'). Didn't help that he was indicting half his audience on account of them being truly skeptical, to virtue signal how offended he is by wrongthink.

If Dave wants to talk shit, get Alex on, and make a show of it. Don't do it on a fucking spooky camp fire night show.

I'm still trying to figure Dave out, but it's not fair to form a full opinion before callers come into the mix. At times he seems willingly credulous, and at other times frustrated with claims that sound no more ridiculous to me than those of the last guest he deferred to.

I switched over to Coast last night when it came on, for that last half hour I'm able to stay awake...I was turned off by Dave's guy claiming his girlfriend had aliens come into their bed after they had sex, or whatever the hell that was. I missed the Alex Jones rant, so I can't assess it, but come on...who were you just talking to?

Coast may coddle Jones, but I've heard Noory address the Sandy Hook thing with him. (I don't remember how the conversation went, but Noory was concerned and did address it.) I like Noory's over-the-top news opening before I go to bed and will listen to a bit of his first topic if it's decent. I'm enjoying Dave and because of my time zone hope that his first-hour guest will be interesting or entertaining.

But I'm still getting through some confusion with his approach...he's had two women making what seemed to be similar claims about life-after-death, and my memory (whether that is the case or not) is that he pushed back hard on one's failure to adhere to Scientific Method, yet let the other go on and on and seemed deferential.

Maybe I'm not into the subject enough to catch the difference, but it's left me a bit confused. I'm sure it will work itself out, and I'm looking forward to callers. In the meantime I am appreciating Dave's effort and commitment.

This summarizes my take thus far - the grade is incomplete because it's just an interview only program. And yes he has vacillated in his responses during interviews. I guess he's having to fill in the punctuation callers should have added.

Funny though how Heather gets grief for not having a dump button despite allegedly having Art's gear while Dave has the full resources of the DMDN and Keith's expertise yet still can't take calls...

Yeah as I said before, it seems both are relying on hobbyists who are doing after-hours work to help out. Dave is getting a pass on no phones, but at least he's doing a show.

Quote from: Sean92008 on May 23, 2018, 10:29:09 PMOk... Vaping got brought up.

Supposedly, ethylene glycol is the fluid that vaporizes and carries the juice...

Isn't that  radiator coolant?

Other than the metals found in the vapor, that shit's gonna kill.
I doubt anyone'd be using ethylene glycol as solvent for vape.  What've been in common use have been mixtures of propylene glycol & glycerol, both common food additives.  Maybe there's some 1,3-propadiol out there too.

Glycerol (glycerine, glycerin) is 1,2,3-propanetriol.
Propylene glycol is 1,2-propanediol.
The 1,3 isomer's a little less polar.

Quote from: Aquarius on May 23, 2018, 10:53:20 PMUnfortunately, you can't really trust many of the "safe" evaluations from the FDA... they said Roundup was safe and now it's banned all over Europe because it is severely carconogenic.
No, it's banned all over Europe because they're idiots.

I have my doubts on his really having tech issues.

I believe this was planned to let all the trolls blow themselves out and not turn the phone lines into MITD/Heather therapy sessions.

Just my .02c...

Quote from: Aquarius on May 23, 2018, 11:04:36 PMI'd really work not to! Mons**to (I don't even want to type their name) also sued farmers who had the misfortune to have Mons**to's GMO seeds blown over onto their organic fields by the wind and sprout... for not paying for the seeds! And dang it, they won some court cases and crushed the individual ORGANIC farmers! Not right, imho.
They won because of the evidence those farmers were deliberately taking advantage of it.  Like when someone transmits a radio signal over your property, and you decrypt it.  Yeah, they let the signal out over your property, but you didn't have to decrypt it.

WhiteTroll has always been charming,  like "Senda in a suit"  :)

To be fair, he started out as a proud and unrepentent troll. About the time he started asking (Redacted) on the Gabcast for her picture, then all the woman on Bellgab for theirs is when he started using his sensitive (and rich) man act.

Surprisingly, women weren't sending him pictures. Claiming he wanted to make a 'Women of Bellgab' calender didn't help get the pictures rolling in either. So, he decided to get their name and address by sending out hoodies. That way he could look them up himself.

He's surely the only one in news that does that. Could you be more naive?! ::) ;D

Noory is very conservative, last night saying he'd fire any player of his who knelt during the anthem. He no doubt knows his audience, who I'm surprised must be very right-of-center, maybe because they're older.

Around here people tend to be conservative too. You might think paranormal fans were more progressive ("open minded"), but I'm finding the topic is more attractive to people who are critical of the state, not necessarily conspiracists but definitely more independent-minded.

Though George says he won't take sides, he definitely skews Right. So, ultimately, did Art.

When Dave talked about how he avoided saying Trump's name because of the controversy it generates, I suspected it was more because he was more left-of-center than his audience. After what I'm hearing he said last night, especially if it was essentially defensive of the MSM, I suspect I was right.

He may seem a little inconsistent because he's feeling his way into a comfort level with the MitD audience.

I’m a volunteer, so I guess so used the term “work” loosely.

I sit with some patients on a regular basis, for socialization/companionship. Mostly I do 11th Hour vigils, sitting with people who are dying, when they don’t have anyone to be with them. I have had at least one really memorable experience, though a couple of others where I did question if someone was in the room with us that I could not see.

I play music during most vigils. One of my first vigils was with a man who was completely non-responsive. However, his hands seemed to start “playing” the piano and a horn, as either were being played through my Pandora app. It was at the appropriate times during the piece of music when he would do this. It didn’t last long, but it was amazing.

Our hearing is said to be the last sense to go. This seemed proof enough to me!

I was standing in line when the woman in front of me struck up a converstation. She said she was just getting off work in hospice. I asked her if she ever sees spirits. Her response was "All. The. Time." How about you, Belln?

Metron2267

Really good analysis of political leanings there.

Being suspicious of the state is clearly not a "progressive" setting and that is where today's Dem party is head bak to - Woodrow Wilson's more totalitarian statist brand of taking globalist orders.

Dave's from Minnesota, which barring him being a big Jess Ventura fan, means farther left than right generally.

But not Wellstone right...right???

Solution: electric rotisserie.  It's just a little tricky containing the meat so it doesn't fall thru.

to be honest, Dave REEEEEEing about Sandy Hook was cringy.

hello.. new member here, enjoying the site.
Heather has talked about an old photo of her taken at a carnival.
It was posted on facebook by a friend of hers and I was hoping to see it if someone could direct me to it.
I also hope she returns to mitd.. she has a unique flare in her interviews and story telling that I enjoy.
thank you

Quote from: Kolchak on May 23, 2018, 11:52:27 PMEver since Pall Mall stopped being able to advertise on radio and television, everyone began mispronouncing their brand uncorrected.
The place is pronounced Pall Mall.  The adjective in the sense of unrestrained, crazy, is pronounced pell mell.

Makes more sense that if the cigaret wanted to be thought of as classy, it'd be pronounced Pall Mall.  They'd only be Pell Mell if they were supposed to be kinda nutty.

Great show last night. I missed most of the first guest but enjoyed you two trading creepy stories. Bellgab seems to be settling back to normal. Concerning your show, the general consensus seems to be very positive. Except for one very triggered and very annoying Alex worshipper

i don't believe it was a hoax. however, Dave's emotional response seemed out of place. okay, so, he knew a guy 'on the ground.' so what? i don't care what Alex Jones says. his words have zero effect on me or my life.

Most electric rotisseries have a basket that can clamp down to hold burger meat or fish filets pretty well.

His rant, which I did not hear, sounds like it turned some people off because it had elements of "concern trolling," which is a personality quirk I find among some posters here too. I deplore it in real life.

It's a tendency to interject oneself as a special pleader for the Authority, in order to ensure that one's own position is secure.
