What I don't get is why Keith still isn't livestreaming MITD on YouTube. That's where the next generation of BellGabbers are hanging out.  Even a certified mouth-breathing retard like Vara knows the value of that and is able to pull it off, almost impressively in a terrible sort of way.  With Royalty-Free R2-D2 composing all of Good Dave's bumper music, there's not even a copyright issue to worry about anymore.

What does "first half/second half" mean on a three hour show? Dave hasn't been splitting up the second hour. I wonder if he decides on the fly if the first guest gets held over to hour two, though that would mean the second guest would have to be ready and prepare to be bumped to just hour three.

Basically its because earth has been discovered again by far flung beings and word got out.  Generally guardians keep this place hush, hush but sometimes a scout will discover this place and a bunch of new souls want to come heee because it looks so great.  Most want to be incarnated as humans so at various times earths population explodes.

Samplers are a great idea.  Even 15-minute segments with one great answer would be good.  Now, some guests might not like that but most are probably attention whores trying to sell something.

It's already gone a long way to being millennial-friendly. It has a comparatively very fast past.  The guests are rapid-fire.  It's three hours instead of Art's original five hour format from C2C's heyday.  Two or three scratch-the-surface conversations before ejecting and moving on to the next.  It suits the micro attention spans of today.  They get a taste and if they are interested more in the guest or product they can do additional research immediately on line.  Nobody but truckers, lonely graveyard shift workers and me wants to hear slow-paced long form five hour interviews anymore.

With the short attention span though even if you get everything right to capture their interest it won't be for very long.  There's just too many options and endless new material thanks to the internet and the ease at which any person can create and publish content.  I think the days of shows like Art Bell's C2CAM with millions upon millions of live listeners are pretty much over.

Yes / no.  I would doubt that most of Art's listeners were awake listening to all 5 hours and then getting up for work the next day. Most of his listeners were the very people you describe, or they would have tuned into the first hour or two and then went to sleep.

I would also bet that most terrestrial stations who pick up a 5 hour overnight show do it so that they don't have to play anything else.  They are not picking it up because it is a 5 hour long form interview... Is three hours long enough to make it worth their time (say they play it from midnight to 3:00... What do they fill the next two hours with if they pick up DS?

They would have picked up Art if it were 10 half hour interviews.  Art just knew how to draw out a story and prevent himself from burning through every possible guest in a year (even then, there were a few who repeated too often for my tastes.)

I would listen to Knapp interview Pauladies for 10 hours... But an hour with the "good major" is just a little too long.

lol, His prices used to be a lot lower he has really cranked them up lately because people are throwing their money at him constantly to do stupid shit. Last stream i seen he was in a fast food restaurant and people were TTS'ing anime sex sounds and he is so used to it now he just kept eating. Then you see a woman with her kid run to the counter and start flailing her arms and screaming and pointing at him as hes sitting there with no shirt on because he had just ascended.

There has been a few people i thought were going to beat the shit out of him but so far he hasn't received any bodily harm.
