Well, it's a guy, so it's not Willis or Garr.  I doubt it's Schrader or Church.  Syrett?

I'll go on record and say that for me he's the most appealing of the non-Knapp coasties.

I'd really prefer a hedgehog that does numerology.
I rather like a dentist who is an expert both in past-life regressions and future-lives predictions.

Schrader is the overtly religious guy, even moreso than Ian P., right?

No, not really.  His show welcomes all faiths.  He doesn't particular care for preachy types though he is nominally Christian.

If it's a Coast to Coast guy, I want it to be Knapp. But I'd also prefer it's someone else getting a shot. There are a lot of talented hosts out there who aren't just corporate voices trying to seem like they have an edge. I don't mind reading promos, but if I ever had to do one for ParanormalDate.com, I'd kill myself.

It's hard to be overly religious when you have a bunch of kids with different women, I think. Not that I'm judging. More power to him.

See, here's where I don't understand this mentality. MITD is NOT in competition with George. Radio has changed. Nobody HAS to choose one or the other. We have recordings, we have podcasts, both shows are pushing for memberships so that people can consume the show whenever they choose. And the key to putting on a good radio show is NOT thinking about the competition, and talking to the audience like YOU are the only one capable of giving them this content. Start worrying about the next guy, and you're only trying to be better than him, not being the best version of yourself.

I honestly think that's part of Heather's problem...she could never allow herself to step out of Art's shadow, so now it defines her.

That's old school mentality:  people who remember when shows had to be listened to live, or not at all.

It sounds like you're talking about Jesus.

If Knapp had been able to do a show full time, Art wouldn’t have come out of retirement(s).

I wouldn't mind it being him, although he's not exactly charismatic.  He is a good interviewer, is genuinely interested in Bellian topics and has a questing intelligence.

Jeff Belanger was pretty good the other night on C2C, even though Norry was reading from the cards and so some of his jokes or follow-ups were butchered. I'm warming to Syrett but don't see a mild-mannered Canadian with his own show on podcast/air and fill in for C2C bailing to do an online only show with such a brutal, awful history. Schrader had his real radio show canceled but still has podcast but not sure how popular and still has C2C gig sometimes. But he has it seems a whole tribe of kids so has to be looking for stable income? So IDK?

It sounds like you're talking about Jesus.

Funny side note: In 12 years, I've only hung up on one guest, and it was Jesus.

Actually, it was a guy named Richard Brown, who claimed to be the reincarnated Jesus. He said he was starting his own Jesus continent and anyone that didn't believe him and buy into his preaching now wouldn't be allowed in once the apocalypse came.

I told him that wasn't very Jesus of him.

Faustina

I hope that it's not John B. Wells.  He's too lethargic and too politically minded.

LOL.  So true.  I think I'd kill myself if I had like 8 children from 5 women.  Use contraceptives much, Dave?

Sean92008

Crap!  Did John B Wells ever fix his technical issue for Caravan?  If not, maybe he became available.

How much you wanna bet Keith withheld the final paycheck to pay for all the gear? (If he owned any of it, that is.)  Chances are that Art bought it all outright like he made RCH do.

Jeff Belanger is one of the funniest people I know. He's one of my best friends and would be a perfect host himself. The problem is, he's too busy to tie himself down to a gig. But he could totally take over for George someday.

After he finished rousting the money changers from the temple it's rumored that he he asked one of them if he had two tens for a five and then winked at him.  ;)

Rollye James just gave Heather some sound advice, which probably will fall on deaf ears.

Last thing I want to hear at night is a politically driven show.  One of the reasons why I turned off Coast.

Agree with you on Jeff Bellanger.  Well spoken, has energy, very very into Bellian topics (particularly the paranormal).  Not exactly charismatic, but appealing and easy to listen to.

How about SuperBeets?  Be aware there would have to be a SpookyTimBeets.com.

Punnett?

Close. I'm hearing Australian accented whispers that it's former guest Jason the horse.

There was some guy. Not sure where based but he was on WOAI which was a blow-torch who had a Jesus call-in show. It really blew me away when I caught it on the radio after a night of drinking years back and having some morning beers by the canoe fixing to go back out again. I couldn't quite "get it." (Later I looked it up and found out the guy wasn't not proclaiming to BE Jesus but sort of a 'what would Jesus do" type of thing.) But, for awhile, I was stunned that some major AM radio (in Texas) would have a guy saying he WAS Jesus on the air, and on a Sunday...)

Exactly.  And Keith knows that.  MITD, and c2c back in the day, are an escape from all the oppressive daily news topics of which politics looms largely.... esp. these days.
