All you need to do is overlay their faces and observe the very distinctive jaw structure.

I hate to do the conspiracy theory on this one but the lack of objectivity Art had about her broadcasting chops, the passing of the "legacy" torch, selling her the studio home, etc.

It all seems to line up as HLW being his daughter from some other dalliance. And her boundless grief is suddenly understandable in that she lost the father she built an adult relationship with.

Anywho...that's my Columbo for the day....

There is zero evidence of this. This rumor has been tossed around here for years, and nothing.

When heather had her “friends” here I think she would have let that leak.

Ruby Falls was actually pretty amazing.  At least in '81 it was.  We made a road trip from Houston to PA back then to visit family and they had the tourist trap billboards for it what seemed like every mile when you started getting close to it.  On the way back, we decided to take a break there and see what it was.  We expected something really tacky, but were surprised by it and the history of how it was found.

Thanks for the heads up!
I have a brother that lives in Baytown and we went to the USS Texas and San Jacinto museum. Had a real nice time.

James Mason for sure.  I also have a deep fondness for Ronald Colman.  Interesting fact, Colman was slated to be the lead in Village of The Damned when he died.  His wife married George Sanders after he died and Sanders ended up with the role.

Another great one, I had no idea he was up for that role.

Ran into this, life was a lot funnier back then...

I think Art considered bumper music critical to his show for some reason. Admittedly music does really change the feel of a show when you listen to it live.

If you're so inclined musically I find the bumper music Ben and Aaron use on "Mysterious Universe" to be highly listenable, but then I like electronica quite a bit...

Oh you're definitely right - Art was really good with the choice of bumper music.  And I really love most of his choices.  But when it came down to "I won't go on without my bumper music" most folks basically begged Art to come back even without it.  I signed up as a time Traveler initially and would have either way.

A few years ago I never would have felt or said this, but feel totally that we fed into Art's drama and need for attention.  I totally respect the work he did as a broadcaster, having listened since well before his first quittening in 1998.  But we got played along the way.

That's a valid observation, unless Art had sworn her to silence of course.

Certainly this is THE place where things that go bump in the night come to go bump, so...let the bellgab Columbo's continue their investigations.

It certainly was. I could listen to Colman read a phone book. His voice was like velvet. There are just not people like that around anymore or so it seems.  :-\  Thanks for posting that.  I heard he and his wife were semi-regulars on the Benny radio show and made several appearances on his TV show too. Never saw them though.

She admitted she lied to all of us and had been living at Art’s for the past couple years. If you still have access to her old shows listen and you will hear Art’s chair creak. Her chair made the exact same creaking sound all along. The clues have always been there for us. I googled her address A LONG TIME AGO and it came up Pahrump.

Granted, she is booming out louder and clearer as she goes along!

I loved her to pieces, until she called Knapp a vulture on Twitter, told her fans to harass any guest host on FB, left Airyn on the porch on the day of the funeral, and lied about where she lived. Now she comes across as phony to me. She needs to earn my trust back.

Can't say I ever loved her. Jesus, tolerate is a stretch. But I kept paying the 4.99 every month. The Knapp is a vulture tweet was the eye opener. It's around that time I joined BG. The weeks that followed was just one revelation after another. Now I know what a complete and utter fraud she is. She has serious mental health issues and hope she addresses them.

But I have lost any respect for her I may have had. She'll not earn my trust back, the damage is done (so I guess I'll be leaving - ohh)

Of course we did, that's why so many of felt a personal twinge on his passing that we found odd for an "entertainer". I mean he wasn't Elvis.

He had a con man's consummate skill in setting expectations, missing them, then resetting them again just a wee bit higher.

In an alternate universe Art could have run a very lucrative Ponzi scheme and never been caught at it.

Speaking of which: Am I the only one who heard Heater offer her fans a photo op with her at the (alleged) upcoming event?

I, for one, am looking forward to seeing a picture of Paul embracing his "princess of the night" (his words, not mine) while Ella looks on approvingly.

(Or perhaps not so approvingly.)

Nope, she sure did, and invited people to meet her. But she sounded weird while she was talking. Oh wait a minute, when hasn't she sounded weird lately?

I think George Sanders could have done it too.  LOL.  He was always a great villainous cad.

I could never do that. I've rescued dogs from the pound before but I just go with what their name is. I wouldn't want someone willy nilly changing my name.
You do it slowly.  A long transition period.  Some pets names need to be changed, bec certain names encourage certain behavior.  Name that start with K and Z can encourage too much instigation.

So, if you have a hyperactive Zoro, climbing curtains and peeing like a speed racer in corners, you transition to Oro (or Oreo or whatever) by callin him "Zoro-oro!".  Pretty soon, after a few months, he will happily respond to "Oro".

Sometimes a spirit name just happens.  Like one time my dog and I had a magic moment, and a new, similar name just came out of my mouth out of the blue, but it was a declaration.  He knew it was a declaration, and looked up at me in gratitude.  From that day on, he loved his new name, although I did the hyphen thing too.  It turned out great, because very few people had been able to pronounce his given name, so he had been forced originally to respond to too many confusing derivations.

I've had many pets, and changed at least three of their names.

No!

Having said that I have a theory that the more you love someone the more names you tend to give them. At least my mom was that way.

That vulture comment turned me against her as well.  I wasn't a regular listener but I listened once in a while and was rather impartial to her. I couldn't really take her seriously though what with the fake Art vocal inflections.

Does this mean that she has always had Art's "sacred" mike (which I feel is destined to be in the radio broadcasting hall of fame) perhaps just by the entrance to Rush's EOB branch? For whatever reason (perhaps the placebo effect, but it seemed pronounced) she was significantly more clear after she announced the move in terms of audio fidelity.  Also, if she did move before she announced (and thus was prevaricating) isn't it possible that she did so for security/privacy reasons (both for herself, Art, and his family?).  I tend to believe that if they (Heather and Art) were having some sort of illicit, ongoing relationship that being so close to Art's wife and family would have made Heather so uncomfortable that she psychologically would not have been able to live there (and continue doing so) without tremendous anxiety (not saying that it is impossible, just unlikely). Also, Heather talked about Art's kids helping with her cats. Again, I believe that if their relationship was not appropriate that Art's wife would at a minimum have put the kibosh on such interactions.  Obviously, Heather isn't perfect and neither was Art (personally, from a broadcasting standpoint he was Michael Jordan) but I have a great appreciation of what they have endeavored to bring to the venue.

The only issue with your take on this is that you are dropping out/ignoring the clear signs of both HW's and Art's sociopathic tendencies, evidenced in so many known details about them (ignoring speculation here) it would be too laborious to document here. Sociopath doesn'tmean killer, btw, it means someone who has an inability to empathize with other people, who can't feel real feelings for others. If they wanted to have an affair (I suspect they likely were, just a specualtion), neither of them would have taken others' feelings into consideration, but would have put their attention on how to do what they pleased and not get caught... or if Airyn knew, to have her acquiesce happily or not. We don't know their private dynamics, but this really looks like garden-variety sociopathy and/or narcissism, a different flavor of personality disorder. Not criminals, but not warm and fuzzy for others' feelings in any way. Just my two cents.

I'm 10 pages behind so forgive me if it's been brought up but I just can't believe how ballsy she is:

Same price, same Time Traveler name, same Wormhole name, same everything except now she's allowing folks to download the bumper music defying all sense of monetilogical reasoning. Balls!

I was gonna say something about that too, though I'm still catching up, only 3 pages to go.

But I think that must be the Magic (Not Magic) Music License she acquired. I think Bart Ell sells them  ::)

Surely someone will report her to whoever it is deals with renegade podcasters who throw Dancing Queen in as part of the subscription!? This annoys me more than it should. She needs a swift kick in the front lady bottom

If she said that I would be curious to know what the context might have been (had he declined an interview? I know she had been seeking one for some time).  If true not a nice thing to say, but then again we all say stupid stuff especially on Twitter (I have liked many of Roseanne's shows, but cannot begin to defend her Twitter statements). Still, George Knapp is a truly nice guy and an amazing broadcaster. No one (Art included) takes more time to know his guests material (sometimes seemingly better than the guest's themselves) before an interview.

I haven't checked on her site recently, but last time I did and clicked on one of the bumper music pieces it took me to a youtube link of the song. Is that considered distributing the music without a license if it's referred to a public youtube link? How does this work?

She said it online, in public, right after Knapp did a really nice, heartfelt tribute to Art, who btw, he knew many many years longer than HW did. She didn't want the police to announce his passing, was ticked that C2C announced it while she decided to pass on doing a show that night, then attacked Knapp when he paid his respects two nights later. Totally out of line, she was, in addition to telling her fans to bash any guest host that might be put on in her absence. Dark side certainly emerged!

She posted it in response to Knapp's tweet-tribute to Art.  We went on for pages thinking she was mad he scooped her and wrecked her chance to drive new listeners to her show through some combo obituary/subscription deal  ;)

My theory is, as both a reporter and a friend, he was already asking questions about the circumstances of Art's death that made people uncomfortable.
