I've done the same. Great songwriter had a large back catalog mostly on 2-track and a bit of 4-track cassettes.

I offered to make sure he had the right gear to get it into his computer and workable for a compilation CD. Instead of paying attention and learning how to do it, he just has me do it while he tells his wife that he's working with me. Just a lazy, entitled asshole attitude. If I stop doing it tomorrow, he'd have to hire somebody else at a higher cost to replace me.

Seriously looking at a prefab in my empty nest life. Had a former neighbor with a horrendously big motor home and that was great but I don't know if I can handle that. Snowbirding it isn't my nature as a SoCal native.
