My physician of 23 years just retired. My favorite TV show is in its last season. Now Art Bell. I have lost so much.

This reminds me of the day I put away my founding member of the Ross Perot for president id card.

I don't blame Art, I just wish Roland would have spent the money necessary to catch these guys.

All it would have taken is an photo of a plate number.

It's not like it's hard to find a few people with a crappy car or bicycle who needs work that can operate a camera.
Shadow people are quite hard to catch.

Do you think they would act this way about reports of a shooter rampaging through Pahrump?  If this really happened it would be state news, and probably national as well.  Crickets.

Exactly. In today's climate any shootings, or the word of some person taking pot shots from the dark (this one is even alleged multiple shootings), would quickly spread around town. Especially when it involves a high profile person from that town.

I am not convinced that Art would fabricate this whole situation. I am leaning towards him believing there is someone after him and just the belief of that is what matters.
It would create paranoia, stress, trauma, etc and cause turmoil within the household.
I think his wife could see Art coming apart, the stress and emotional trauma it was causing them, and decided to put her foot down.

Until we hear the 911 tape(s) or some official police statement/report on the matter I think Art made a mountain out of a molehill.

I have never understood what people see in Mayo. Very bland and BBC to my ears, and I haven't heard much of a sense of humour. When he gets on with Kermode to do their bloody film reviews the smugometer goes right off the charts.

I was thinking more R2 drive time. 5-7pm

I didn't know Steve Wright was still alive - someone should tell him.

Steve Weight as he's known in the Beeb ;)...he's still around, loving the show.

Ken Bruce is one of those people who will always have a job at the Beeb because he's so inoffensive they can't kick him out, it would be like being mean to a baby squirrel - although don't knock it till you've tried it. Gambo reeks of insincerity...and semen.

Both are encyclopaedic with their musical knowledge. I like Gambo's delivery..

Other that, completely agree!  ;)

Back in the mid/late 2000s when I was spending a great deal of time in the UK, one of the office staff at the company I was working with was seemingly obsessed with a radio presenter by the name of Whale.  I thought it was odd since the guy apparently did a political talk show on a sports station.  I shrugged it off as typical Brit eccentricity, the same thinking that gave Sara Cox (she of the "Big Ones") her own radio show.  Anyway, I noted neither of them made your list.

I forgot about both of them! Sara now does a late night 80's show...music of. Pretty good listen, she has guests who were big in the 80's before (mostly) hitting obscurity. James Whale I know of but haven't listened to, he was based in London I think.

Odd coincidence; last night I switched over to C2C and got the replay of the 1st hour from Thursday just as Noory was explaining to his guest that in his 10+ years he's only missed two nights on C2C for personal reasons; when the Killer Pizza Roll struck.

Good luck with that. As for me, I'm not interested in listening to hack radio. It's Art Bell or nothing. I could tell from the opening segment that Heather didn't have the chops to carry a radio program. And the way she handled the technical snafu was embarrassing to say the least. It takes years to hone one's on-air skills -- and most aren't good even after doing that. As much as you and others want Heather to succeed, it's not gonna happen. It would be like putting an inexperienced person at the controls of an F16 and expecting them to get off the ground.  No matter how much he or she wants it, it ain't gonna fly.

FYI, telling the truth is trolling.

This feels appropriate after last night's show. The heartbreak occurs about 31 minutes into the program, for anyone keeping score at home.

Yep, no fuzz on that statement.  Art says there are reports at the Sheriff's office, yet local media and LEOs apparently say otherwise.  The status of celebrities who opt to live in small towns is an interesting dynamic.  They are either respected members of the community who are protected by the locals, or prima dona pains in the ass who are often viewed as more trouble to the community than their worth.  Clearly local media, police, even elected officials are likely to answer questions about such celebrity residents as a function of which category they fall under.  Would be interesting to know how the locals feel about Art.

Oprah is going off the air?

Damnit, I knew someone would catch wise.

Why do we need to find out anything? If it were found out Art wasn't on the up and up, well that would bring him back.

bateman

Oh god, this all really happened? It wasn't a bad dream?

Do we know if anyone submitted a FOIA request to the Nye County sheriff? If anyone has the approximate dates of all the incidents, I'll send out the request.

This is a BAD idea...Police have better things to do than cowtow to a bunch of butthurt fans, even in a small town like Pahrump. LEAVE THE COPS ALONE!

You know...I was just thinking. If all these sabotages and bullets flying at Art were, in fact, 'corporate' related....then, um....it may be very possible that those responsible (and even the shooter himself) would now, even as we speak, be in this forum attempting to throw mud on the king as he leaves the castle.

dunno....*shrug* would make sense though

That was your first mistake. Leave thinking to the professionals and try to concentrate on higher things.

Don't worry, he still loves you and you'll still love him...But why didn't your astrological readings see this coming?

Actually....on my Thursday night show I did a reading for 'the shooter in the desert' and did, in fact, predict this.

So there.

I predict that tonight a few bombs will drop on Syria.

I have news for you, I told several members in this forum back in September he'd be gone by Christmas. Get me eh?

Hey...you asked, I answered. Now piss off and go running to the beeb.

For closure. For fans that have supported him and put food on his plate since the early 90s. Also, I don´t like being deceived by somebody I´ve supported and defended to others, for so many years to. And I really believe BellGab helped get the ball rolling during the beggiing phases of Art´s last return. Jesus, we got him a Time Square ad.

There seems to be a large number of mud throwers all of a sudden...works for me.  :)
