Thank god Heather had a studio ready to go at her place.

If this story is true then I'm sorry for him, but I seriously doubt it. This is just all too convenient. The news that was just read upset me. Unite as Time Travelers (paying customers) and stand up together against the terrorists threatening both the country and Art Bell. Seriously?? Can we maybe not try to sell me something tonight? Can we maybe not use the fear and anger over terrorism all over the world as a vehicle to hold subscribers???

WABC must be out of their mind pissed off right now.

Huh, what terrorists? You think this whole thing is terrorism? Yeah lets lump a melodramatic man's account in with suicide bombings and cafe bombs in Nigeria.

That is what Dark Mater news just said on air. I didn't say it, they did.

Agreed and creates new questions about the death of Ramona followed by sudden new marriage.

Yes.  I also heard a lot of issues related to neurological problems in his speech patterns and behavioral patterns as well. Some of it was going over focusing on a few things, some of his memory and how he would put some syntax together.

So, I guess this is goodbye. If you didn't blow all your money on hookers and gambling, your daughter will be set for life.

If I were his insurance company though, I would drop this guy like a very hot rock. Chance of domestic violence increases exponentially with claimed threats of an outside stalker arise. Wether real or make believe, the numbers just go up...

If it walks like a duck...

Ha! more proof for my theory. They set her up from the very beginning to be a co host and eventual replacement.

What I find fascinating is all you rejects calling yourselves "fans" of Art Bell yet at the same time you proclaim him devious and unethical enough to use his own young daughter as an excuse to quit his radio show.  Get a grip.

I am a fan. At the same time, I have a right to be angry if I feel that Art has an on-going habit of treating his fans like crap by means of his capricious behavior. He does not have carte blanche to treat his fans line this, nor should his most loyal of fans be expected to tolerate said treatment no matter what. Respect has to be earned and maintained and I'm not in the habit of giving mine away for free.

That is something that I think hasn't been talked enough. The affiliates who took a chance on an independent like  Art Bell against the long lasting C2C who has a big giant syndicated media giant behind it. I think we all want non-corporate radio and radio hosts out there, and here it was and it all went downhill pretty fast. It didn't just ruin Art's reputation but any of these stations taking a chance on somebody who doesn't have the corporate machine behind them  :(

Instead of quitting (as usual) how about hire some guards?  He lives on a dead end street, can't be that hard to secure it.

Echo

On the bright side, at least this time no one's is out a year subscription to XM radio.  ;D

Its hard to secure anyplace against a boogey man.

Again, just not interested in listening to Heather.  It is Art or nothing for me.  There are zillions of podcasts out there if I just want to  hear anyone.

Excellent point...Art's really queered himself this time. First with Sirius, now with WABC (not exactly a tiny station) and the Dallas affiliate that had him for what, two nights or so?

Wrong. Heather was starting her own podcast. I, and a couple of gabbers got her this equipment. I took her to Pahrump to interview Art which was going to be her first podcast episode but we decided to play it as a gabcast special. Later, of his own design, Art hired her.

I was calling that from the night of the test show. The guy is 70 years old, it is only practical to have somebody there and available to do the work. As a matter of practicality and legacy. While she may be great, it is not the same. The hand-off was very rough.

I just don't understand. He just got WABC and suddenly he quits. This makes everything look so bad for so many reasons. If he ever broadcasts again nobody will ever give him a shot. Art kind of became the king of Indi radio and he had a chance to make radio better for everyone by hanging in there for just a little while. Screwing over the affiliates is something that is going to screw everyone.

Art just came on. Wow. Going to listen.

popple

LOL @ redacted telling art to come close to his mic.

Well, the point is, if you really are a fan then you wouldn't think he would sink so low that he would do the things you're saying he may have done.

Figure it out, Sparky.

A person can be a 'fan' of just the entertaining and thought provoking topics, the skillful interviewing and conversations Art has on the air.
Being a 'fan' does not mean they have to like Art personally or agree with every nuance of his personality.

Dateline

She was fine on the Gabcast, but for a long-form talk show of three hours I am very choosy who I will listen to.

I wouldn't hang out here if I was him based on the things he's been accused of here.

That's for sure. The vitriol is amazing. If your "fans" accuse you of lying and plotting to end your show it makes you wonder why he would ever bother to come back.

YES!  Exactly what I was thinking.  It seems like a bunch of trolls came out.  I mean, more than usual.  The man is suffering with a horrible circumstance, and a bunch of clowns come here and say he's just making it up.

There has got to be a way to "protect" Art and his property. Any Ideas?

Oh ffs I didn't say that.  I said a real fan wouldn't believe the shit some people are saying about Art making this stuff up.  Why is this so fucking hard for some of you people to grasp?

Hahaha. I just remembered the podcast of two girls humping. Yes, that was the podcast. I only listen for a few seconds and that was enough. Actually, I think it was just some guy that took a bunch of noises from poor nose and put it together, still funny for a moment. That is the only podcast I've ever bother to listen to.

I am not bothering to correct any of the voice recognition issues in the above paragraph.
