How can you tell what type of gun is being fired at you? Do they make different types of sounds? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but the only real guns I have ever seen in real life are in cop's holsters. It never occurred to me that you could tell what's being shot at you, could you?

You can tell different type of guns, calibers, or if shotgun etc though inside a studio probably could only tell pistol vs rifle vs shotgun? And maybe after the first shots because you would be paying attention.
The whole thing sucks. I doubt Norry, IHate etc are behind this. (That would be crazy move and I doubt a large corporation with solid affiliates would pull that kind of stuff, mist-tunnels aside. Crazy person, crazed fan, I guess. But regardless Norry will be gloating, though maybe with some fake concern for Art and family if pressed by listeners. Every night, even now 13 years later, callers mention Art when they call in. Has to smart a bit. I understand but giving in to crazies, terrorists, and stalkers sucks but when it comes down to family, if true, I can understand. I never thought he should talk family, location, post pics, etc so often. Nobody in the public eye (or, heck, even private lives post so much stuff in public.)

(I love whacky Bob L!)  I'm not sure I'd believe FB reports of people claiming to have phoned Pharump PD, etc.,   If I call, or if someone else calls while I'm in the room, I'd believe it.  I've been gobsmacked over the years at the claims that are made on the internet, believed and taken as proof, that turned out to be bogus.  Someone may really believe they are reporting the truth, but it may not be factual.

There were some real weirdos filing FOIA requests, and other annoying, unhelpful and selfish self-serving bullshit when the shooting first happened outside art's compound a few months back.

The police are probably saying this to dodge the creepy weird fans pulling nasty shit again.

I had to get into it with one of them last time around, and they couldn't help themselves from getting banned thankfully.

Art also went from zero to five nights a week which had to intensely stressful on the family. This seems like the exact time a breakdown would happen.

I don't even know what to think. I'm sorry if I'm a little bit of a skeptic about this situation, but I can't imagine why someone would want to terrorize Art and his family. (As much as we think GNS, I don't think he's the "hire a hit man" type.) But if this is the real reason, I wish Art could have found some other solution than quitting AGAIN. All that said, yes, life and safety are more important than a show. My thoughts are all over the place on this topic at the moment.

Now I'm waiting for Noory to come dancing around here in glee like he did the last time.

I have SO MANY EXPLETIVES right now, but I'll just stick with DAMN, THIS IS DISAPPOINTING. My Christmas is not feeling so merry suddenly.

Hey, you!...Yes, "guns" do make very distinctive sounds when fired. I've heard very many different calibers of pistols and rifles fired. If you spend a lot of time at a firing range, you'll hear almost all of them.

This is such sad news.    I don't blame Art at all.  The safety and well-being of he and his family are paramount.  We were lucky to have him back one more time.  The whiners here are simply selfish and immature. 

Still, there is no guarantee Art quitting his show will make the stalker go away.  It may however reveal his identity, as this tiny penis guy will likely gloat about it on social media. I suspect he's already posted his grievances against Art somewhere.  Pahrump LE may already know more than has been reported.

We really shouldn't go down the path of if Art has the right to defend himself with a broomstick or a belt fed machine gun.  We did this last time art had some shots ripped off, and it was clear that nobody was going to "get it", but was happy to argue about what position Art should crawl up in to die because guns are icky and only dumb, poor, republicans own them, and trump, NRA, Dick Cheney something something.   This forum just doesn't have the spare brain cells when Art drama happens.  Let's stick to the facts, art, and the future, if any

Why would he make up a story about getting texts from his neighbors to alert him about shots being fired near his place?  Why not just say he heard them?

Why mention that one of the neighbors actually "saw a car in the dead end lane"?

And why not just end it all after that event?  Why wait another 2 months to quit over the issue?

Well Jocko, how would they do that?  Stake out his place during every show?  Serious question.  That's 3 hours every night that cops need to be sitting somewhere around that area looking out for this shooter.  Is that really feasible?  Something cops would do under these circumstances?

I have no idea whether he is "outright lying."  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if (on some level) he believes these things are happening, even in the (likely, IMO) event that they are not.  But the kinds of details in that post are exactly the kind of things someone would include if they were trying to get people to believe their story.  The inclusion of details does not, in and of itself, prove anything factually.
