The best players can play rhythm, lead, acoustic, electric, fast, slow, quiet, loud.  They write songs with beauty and passion.  They steal women's hearts and they make men proud with the power of their humbucking, fuzz rock power.  They run the gamut.

Kids today have grown up on hip-hop.  They've been ripped off.

Check out a band on Youtube called "All them witches" from Nashville. Their full albums on are on youtube, I recommend "Lightning at the door" first. Sort of a mix of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd influences but unique from both.

Will do! I've been obsessed with Tune Yards since discovering them earlier this year. It's some of the most original music I've heard in awhile.

Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, they're more modern fast players who can do more than just "shred".  Shredding is pathetic.
