What Do You Think?

Who

A Marine collecting for Toys for Tots was required to stand in 40 degree temperatures outside a Medina, Ohio Walmart.  Company policy does not permit soliciting inside their stores.  Should the manager have made an exception?  Your thoughts?

He's a Marine. He's probably from Ohio. 40 degrees Fahrenheit isn't that cold.

No bigs. Dude handled it.

And he was probably a recruiter, so in a way, it is like poetic justice. Only those that have served and remember their recruiter will actually appreciate the irony.

QuoteThe temperatures were in the low 40s.

“Every business has their corporate policies, but every policy has an exception," said John Harkness, who was collecting money for Toys for Tots. "And I think veterans standing outside, there should be made exceptions for them."

“It was so cold that your knees don't want to bend when you try to walk, and when you get home, even a hot shower doesn't not warm you. It took wrapping up in an electric blanket to try and defrost that night,” said Lynn Harkness, Toys for Tots coordinator.

While that quote is insanely ridiculous, the stupidest part of this whole thing is that this clickbait story went viral. Not even 40, low 40s. This is northern Ohio. The North Coast of America. A few degrees warmer at 50 people are going into that store wearing shorts. In a month or two we're going to go through stretches where we try to remember what it was like when temperatures weren't negative.

And he's right outside the freaking door. I'm sure they didn't ban him from warming up. He just couldn't actively solicit in there.

Plus, he's a Marine. Not a chance in hell he was saying, "It's COLD out here and so I need my BLANKET like that is any of your business which it is NOT. Now wait while I scream in pain for a bit."

40 F are you fucking kidding?

40 is just about when I start to go from a T shirt to needing a light jacket.
