Indeed.
Thankfully we have the Dweez though...doing an awesome job.
I got to see Dweezil and Omit live in Chicago, Omit was the lead singer..it was a great show

Amen! I'm praying at your church where there's no jihad allowed.

In my church, there's no religion allowed and we serve booze.

Holy cats, poor zebras.  Thanks for the Horrifying Planet series, now I must watch them all. There's not a single reason why that isn't a plausible scenario, and probably not in the too distant future.  Art sounds as though he feels like it happened tonight.  ;D

I enjoyed tonight. Art crazied it up with the zombie talk. Good show.

Nope, i think it was just a small tour they did, I saw Frank live many times in Chicago, always was fascinated with the stacks of Bose 901 speakers facing backwards on stage.
But the sound was always phenomenal .

Great show - Thanks, Art!

Great thread - Goodnight, all!

(I ain't goin' to Hoaxy thread, although he's right about Burke's Connections show. Fantastic stuff!)

Art did a death-defying dance on the edge of a razor blade.  It was the patented Art Bell three-step that terrifies lesser mortals like RCH and Dave:  1. Make it interesting 2. If you can't make it interesting, make it weird 3. If you can't make it weird, make it funny.

Art must be exhausted now, he really worked his ass off tonight.

Ah yes the Bose 901 stacks. I've got a pair of the Series Five 901's and they are enough to knock paint off the walls. Jesus.
Saw Frank in Detroit and Atlanta...the show in Detroit...Frank stopped it and walked off stage ending the show because some asswipe Michigan redneck was throwing quarters at him.

I think you've nailed the exact formula. Writing this down.

Let's hope Art cleared his browser history after googling Naked Men live on air. :P

Ah...of all the afternoons to miss. Glancing through the thread it sounded awesome. The last few guests were kinda dull.

wr250

thread to long, didnt read it all.
so ill toss this out there:
we have feral humans. we call then hillbillies and/or rednecks. or as the canadians say, "dudes from Saskatchewan" .
usually only seen when the welfare checks arrive, or its time to deliver a load of 'shine.

OK! ZZ Top sent him a special box that allows him to put a phase effect on his signal

I asked about this here years ago trying to find someone who remembers him talking about his phase shifter and playing music through it, and everyone swore I was on too many reefers, but its true. DAMNIT IT'S TRUE!

I remember an extra-phasey version of moody blues and of ELO back in the 90s.
I also remember Art getting a special phased version of a song from some band, I think Moody Blues or ELO.

I may just be an old country doctor, and a little touched in the head, but I'm damn sure we had our intelligence insulted last night!
Sweet Bejesus, What the hell was that guy on? In the ancient language of my people this show would be referred as:
"Vadu, crock-O-Sheet!" :o

YESSS... this was a "classshic" show.  Great call in Jaz!  Actually, all of the calls were entertaining.  Art is a genius!  One of the best commutes to work I've had in recent memory...  These are great times we live in bellgabbers

30 minutes in it was obvious that Art was having to work the fool way too hard. He  was winging it.  It was one of most tedious shows hours* since the 3rd Coming. If he was on only once 17 yrs ago, maybe that's was the missed clue; decent guests usually had encores.

True, but there are limits to how many nights I'll stay up to listen to Art skillfully talking around a lousy guest who has nothing to offer or say. I listened to this dude for an hour and heard nothing smart, interesting, or entertaining.  When Hoagland has more old school C2C-style guests than Art Bell, something is f-ed up at DM Radio.

Want an argument for gun control? Do you want this idiot to have a gun? There is the only argument you need in favor of gun control

I don't want anyone to take the gun away from the woman I'll be hiding behind when this guy goes postal.

About to wrap up the archive--Art's made a silk purse from a sow's ear on this show.  Fun listening!
