So it is, but looks like YP and SV are starting a show

It might be live (a few formats there) or a recorded character thing similar to the Goon Show..we'll see.. Anyone want to be our producer? Ahem...

We need to explain GMT and shit too..  :-\  Your awesome witticisms will be lost somewhat on most, so you might have to present slides or at least a powerpoint presentation to explain things, to me if no-one else.

What would you call it? I like 'Communiqué from the motherland'. It has a sense of urgency about it, like you have to listen. Or else.

The Honorable SV's 2016 campaign hasn't been launched yet, and now you want me distracted by this?  Limey bastards. What Am I to do with all of the campaign buttons?  Have them reprinted with a podcast URL?

FRIKKIN.

You could go with the original working title for the "Fuk MV show"...
"Talent not Included?"

"Is anybody out there?" May work.

Better than "Greenwich Meany Times"

The lack of talent is a foregone conclusion; but fucking MV is NOT in the remit. We have checked the contract.

But did you check the non-compete?

I'm reasonably confident our audience figures will number well into single figures.

Seriously, who in their right mind would lower their standards to compete with us?

You can throw down the gauntlet and go with "The Haggis Philes".

We don't cover Scotlandshire so BobGrau won't hear us. I'm sure it will upset him greatly.

We can't get all that on the novelty g string strings that will be part of the show's marketing freebee products. Pity because there's a nice ring to it.

How about something on the order of Derek and Clive?  You could drunkenly discuss pulling lobsters out of Falkie instead of Jayne Mansfield and spelunking inside Kathy rather than Joan Crawford, but the same hilarity undoubtedly would ensue.  I'd probably even listen to that.

I would produce, and possibly even put out, if you made it worth my while.

As Derek and Clive stand in the background preparing for the extraction, Sophia Loren hungrily wonders if Jayne brought enough lobsters for everyone.

You've got yer classic north/south divide with those two... (my 'northerlier than thou' attitude would spoil the magic). The name and format would have to reflect that 'friendly' rivalry.

How about something everyone can agree on?

Jayne: "I don't suppose anyone male is interested that I'm a virtuoso violin player; presenting lobsters it will have to be I guess"

Well it is the last show IMO that is causing the hiatus and the holidays. I'm not sure what the future holds at this point. We haven't officially called it quits, but obviously we haven't done a show in two weeks. Several of the cast have quit the forum all together. I think a lot of it has to do with our different viewpoints on the recent Art Bell retirement.

I will be doing more podcasting soon as well as releasing my book in digital forum hopefully in the next month.
Name recognition alone would have sold ::)
Honestly I learned a lot doing this. It helped me realize that I was taking things way too seriously. This was something I was doing as a hobby, and might be doing for money soon as I was offered something. But even the potential paying gig I was offered will take time to build. There are millions of podcasts, unless you are offering something way different than normal you'll just get lost in the shuffle.

Also there was a struggle with planning. Some of us wanted to do off the cuff radio, and some wanted it planned. I do best when I don't plan what I am going to say next.

Anyway that is the long and short of it. As anything it is a learning experience. It might be back, who knows.

Thanks to those who listened. Also, I am a writer first, broadcasting was never going to be something I took seriously.

Well sorry to see ya go . It was a fun show. But I do look forward to your other endeavors.
:)

Oh and if only we had branded correctly. The MV thing could have taken off. And no, it's not working for Art Bell. LMAO. Too soon?
