Trump is a crying child. Would have done him good to get his knees grazed in the playground and fall out of trees. He's a whimp who shits himself but hides it behind his blow.

Sooner that's realised the sooner you can look at a decent alternative to Hilary.

i'm sure that your impression of a "decent alternative to hillary" is one who can't beat her in a general election. i'd like to know who you think that decent alternative is and why.

No doubt about that.  Some of these Brits can't see the forest through the trees.

Ypud,

I'd get married and start birthin' babies if I was living in the UK.  The low birthrate of Anglos will be your undoing.  Same goes with the rest of Europe and some segments of society here in the States.

Yeah, but won't it be fun?  :)

In a lot less than half a century from now, I'll have shuffled off this coil and the planet will have either poisoned, dehydrated, starved or explored making lots of home grown sunshine. Being an Islamic state won't be the number one worry for our kids then.

I got news for you.  None of that will have happened. You've really bought into the climate change madness.  The primary concern of the Western world will still probably be radical Islam.  Yeah, your country will have succumbed to it by then.  That makes me sad.

Oh we can; we see it clearer than many do. The thing is, at the risk of seeming trite, Bush Jnr irritated the fuck out of many here in september 2001 when he gave the impression that terrorism had just been invented because of the murderous atrocities in the USA. I remember as if it was yesterday where I was, what I was doing when it came on the radio at work: I had just started afternoon shift (1.45-9pm), me and my assistant running a Komori Lithrone five colour printing press and Steve Wright had just started his afternoon radio show.

Two minutes in he broke off back to the newsroom (news on the hour), to have it announced that (it was believed) a light aircraft had hit one of the WTC towers. Local time just before 9am. Back to the show, then two minutes later back again to the news room. Not a light aircraft, but an airliner, which had had a catastrophic accident; then a second..It wasn't an accident, but no-one knew what was going on. Which is where it then went back and forth all afternoon..I didn't see any of it until I got home and my ex wife was sitting gazing at the TV, weeping.  "Look" she said. "Just look".

I was stunned, I couldn't speak. My belief about what had happened via the radio now had pictures showing these two icons of civil engineering collapse down, replayed, over and over again. People jumping out of the windows, huge clouds of toxic dust washing people down the streets of NY. It was dreadful. Beyond words.

Bush had to do something, but he then made it a 'USA verses anyone who thinks we might have got it wrong'. No room for margin. He then decided that Saddam Hussein as well as Bin Laden (whose family's private jet was the only civilian flight out of the USA the day after) were best buddies and put in motion the events that would generate sympathies for the then comparatively few Muslims who had sinister intentions for anything and anyone (including moderate Muslims) they weren't. It didn't help that Afghan civilians were carpet bombed, but hey, they won't be pissed off about it will they? Same went for civilians in Pakistan. Stupidly, the hostile to the west Pakistan secret service was trusted.

The UK has faced terrorism for decades. Long before the USA had it. Trump doesn't seriously think (if he does he's mentally ill) banning Muslims will prevent terrorism in the USA. Nor will it stop home grown terrorists getting their act together. It might however result in civil war, until it's the last man or woman standing. Does anyone think that if the UK mainland had stopped Irish Catholics coming over would have stopped the PIRA bombing mainland Britain?

It would've stopped some. Sure you can't stop all but simply throwing in the towel or not stopping the ones you KNOW about due to political-correctness or some dream-world of a melting pots and kumbaya.

For the individual victim, and their families, stopping even that one terrorist, cartel member, or just plain rapist or murderer is desired. A country isn't even a country without a border and importing known dangerous people or ignoring them because 'lest we offend' is ludicrous. As you mention we have ENOUGH problems with terrorism, crime, etc- why import more?
ps: I think Cromwell and later William III did a decent enough job on the Irish.   ;) But that is all ancient history if you mean the more modern Catholic terrorist stuff even at its worse it pales in comparison to a few slow months for Muslims. (Or course to the individual victims and families it still was horrible.) But nothing compared to the terrorism and barbarity going on today -and throughout the centuries by the "religion of peace." Will Durrant estimates 80 million Hindus (and others) gone during the course of the Islam conquest (partial) of Indian area. For example: Hindu Kush (100K killed at one place.) And Islamist slaving, wars, killings, piracy, and terrorism has, basically continued on since then. In Africa the estimates over time are amazingly high. And, yet, they still continue.

Your putrid little island kingdom is going to shit you dumb fuck. Get a clue. Islamisation WILL be complete in a few decades if you don`t do something...anything! Hell, support the EDL if you have to, whatever it takes. But if you brain-dead liberals do nothing, your grandchildren will be watching their friend`s heads being cut off for holding hands in public!

What a bunch of morons!!

No, he's a born populist with an uncanny skill at knowing how far he can push an extremist line without going over the edge.  He will gain strength.  Cuomo, the CNN guy hired as the scion of a politically powerful Democrat family, is simply full of crap.   The French govt ordered three mosques closed. France and Belgium are rethinking much of their immigration law relative to Muslims.  Parisians are not singing Kumbaya in the streets and handing flowers to Muslims.
Vichy France closes a mosque and the Constitution is in flames

No thanks

NI is part of the sovereign state of the UK. PIRA (based in Eire) wanted (wants) NI to be part of Eire and a Catholic country, like Eire is. So entrenched is the Catholic church in Eire that their legislature is heavily influenced by it, as too is part of NI's as they now have their own legislature. They're as terrified of the Vatican in Eire as they are of the Imams in Pakistan.

A civil war over Islamic immigration is about as likely as winning the lottery. Won't happen. Trump's policy is sensible, the people here owe nothing to anyone wishing to immigrate here and we're simply safer shutting the flow down until we have a sense of who we're actually letting in. Anything else is sacrificing security for political correctness. As Europe is figuring out, borders do have their uses.

In fact, I'm not sure why we accept unskilled immigrants of any sort. Do we really need more cab drivers? No. We already have all the cheap labor we can exploit with the Mexicans, so what exactly is the point of unskilled immigration from Africa and the Middle East? How does that serve the interests of the American people?

Bush is perhaps the most ignorant US President since public schooling became the norm almost 200 years ago. (He should be cause for Yale to end legacy admissions. ) But his family has been close to Saudi oil for three generations and I'll never believe that he didn't use 9/11 as an excuse to invade Iraq for his own and family reasons.

I disagree with Bush's 2002 invasion of Iraq.  I've already gone into some of my reasons; however, I will add that Saddam helped bring stability even though he was a monster.  We should not have initiated regime change that is for the Iraqi people to do.  Believe me, I mourned the losses that the UK and other European countries have sustained over the decades.

I think people often gloss-over the fact that there are people, regimes, and companies (and countries) who benefit from regional, even continental, destabilization and wars.

Okay, say Trump does get in; And as the honeymoon is in full swing, he promises the known world, drives through congress the policies he needs to implement a policy that specifically "Finds what the hell is going on", and begins the process of stopping all Muslims from boarding aircraft or shipping to the USA. ALL Muslims. That means those from Indonesia, Africa, ME, Asia, Europe, Canada, Australia....Every single one. The shipping industry would have no crews, the airlines wouldn't be able to fly out anyone who was a Muslim. Business people, politicians, family members, even flight crew.anyone. Assuming of course everyone admits that they are a Muslim...

Then after a few months when terrorism hasn't got worse or better anywhere, it's decided that maybe Hindus are a problem too, they certainly are in India. Or Jews, yeah, they know how to milk the system don't they? Sure, they don't decapitate people, but they sure know how to get rich while hard working god fearin Americans work their butts off and still get raped financially and lose their homes, can't afford health insurance, have their kids facing a bleak future...then who? Those fucking mentally ill bastards..especially the kids, they're no use are they? And they're bound to kill when they get older, they all do that.

Then there's foreign policy; bomb the shit out of countries who so much as sneer at the new god Trump, Fuck yeah. Go nuclear too, that will show the bastards.

Yeah, vote for Trump, just don't moan and whine if it goes very very wrong.

The Constitution has been in flames for a while now but that is besides the point.  Perhaps we can still save it.  I see nothing wrong in pausing immigration for a while until we can figure out a solution.  I don't recall unfettered immigration being a right in the Constitution.

You took the mouth right out of my thoughts.

I love how Paul Ryan deigns to know what conservative values are.  He's parroting Obama.  "That is not who we are."  I guess they are the same values that Obama likes to call American values.

I wish the political class was as concerned for the safety and security of American citizens as they are about the welfare of immigrants. I'm just sayin'.

To sum up: are we in the shit then?
If we were really in shit our government would be going all out for support of alternate, renewable energy.  Whenever they attempt to re-brainwash us into nuclear a plant somewhere in the world has a problem.

The government is being backed into a corner with renewables as the only way out - OR they are awaiting a fusion breakthrough.
