Art mentioned his disappointment at the new iPhone. Reminds me of the article I've mentioned before about how we're leaving the Information Age and entering an "Infrastructure Age" where we'll see the expansion of the Internet of Things, and more access to alternative energies.

I think another part of it will be on the development of new materials that will all all the above to be more commonplace.

I also can buy into the Brave New World or this idea of a "break-away civilization" even (to an extent) as some people (interestingly of various not necessarily congruent political/religious bent go back to less technology, home schooling, community living, locally grown organic crops, barter and community, micro-power or less power and off-grid, etc. If allowed, of course.)

After surviving Y2K and 2012 none of these new end time dates really grasp my imagination. I'd like a show on all the failed end time dates and why us humans always believe we're living in the end times.
