Absolutely beautiful wr250!

The red flowers are Indian Paintbrush.  I think the orange flowers are Wallflowers, but I'm not sure.  I'll have to look it up.  Do I see snow on your mountains in the background (last pic)?

Thank You so much for your kind words Meister.....made me smile  ;D

Heres a couple of my old favorites, just for you Meister :)  the top one is a meld of two photos I took.  The bottom layer of the first photo is a pictures of a seagull in the sky, and the overlay is the sunflower in the second posted picture, rotated and stretched.

You're still batting a thousand  :) They're both great. I wouldn't have guessed that's how the melded one was achieved. At first it looked like some kind of smokey holocost had been captured while retaining the just-prior-to normal and serene state, as-things-had-been moments earlier, in the above part, and the lone soaring bird, while having symbolic potential, might also have been part of the same lucky and serendipitous catch, the cherry on top.

But then, it started looking like some kind of "eye in the sky" thing goin on, also very cool, but still having no idea exactly how it was done.  It's "painterly", and of an uncommonly good hand.

In any event, the color(s), and composition, and framing, are great -- which is exactly what I said to myself earlier when I first saw your stuff. The first series alone was striking if only for the color pallets of the combined grouping of thumbs. The second set , which I wasn't expecting, was so vastly different, yet even more stunning, elegant, and like off-the charts "this is no average stuff", hey now, antenna are up, you have our attention, Ms Brig.

So there!   ;)

And thanks for showing it (them) to me.

Just a tip for your photos Starr; Increase the exposure when you photograph snow. If you have manual overide make the shutter speed slower. If it's auto, then move the Exposure compensation to +0.5 or +1. The exposure meter is fooled because of the light reflection and thinks it's brighter than it is, and so under exposes.

Thank you Yorkshire Pud.  You know way more about the mechanics of photography than I do, so I'm not sure what you said.

I chose the sunset setting cause I wanted the effect you see above.  I wanted the photo to feel as cold as it was when I was shooting.

At least I know who to come to when I get those "what the hell did I do wrong here" shots lol. ;D

Mid December Snow.

Such beautiful but crazy geology all around you!  How is it you have such a dead flat area upon which the house rests, yet all around you is either sheer mountain-face OR deep ravine?!  Is the flat also solid rock?, and made flat by what action event or process?  Fluke?  Act of God?  :)  Ancient river bed?

That is exquisite.  I love the way you captured the reflection of the crystal.  Reminds me of angel feathers.
