lol, Browns are definitely going to suck for 2 more years.  They hired a coach before hiring a GM. (AGAIN!!!)

With the Raiders having returned to Oakland from LA, and now the Rams returning to LA from St Louis, I'm liking the trend.

The Cardinals should move back to St Louis, the Colts back to Baltimore, and the Ravens back to Cleveland and reclaim their original name of 'Browns'.  The owners who moved those teams should be stripped of their teams and expelled.

Arizona and Indianapolis should decide who gets the expansion Browns now in Cleveland, and who gets the next expansion team.  And the fucking Raiders and Chargers ought to stay where they are and build their own damn stadiums.

... The public provides most teams with expensive stadiums to play in...

With the money the teams generate, they ought to be responsible for building and maintaining their stadiums, or paying fair market rent to whoever builds them.  They are charging what the market will bear, but not paying all of the expenses associated with that income.

With so much excess cash - much of that due to sweetheart deals with the city or county that built the stadiums - they have the money to bid up players contract to absurd amounts.

Players receiving excess amounts are taking money that actually belongs to the taxpayers, in the form of rents not collected.  Maybe the various cities should charge the players 'rent' on an ability to pay basis.

charging players rent? Very interesting idea

Al Davis of the Raiders was a real piece of shit.  His son doesn't seem to have fallen far from the tree.  Watching that family operate all these years has been disgusting.

The team is structured as a partnership.  Al started out as a coach, with no monetary interest in the team.  In 1966 he bought 10% for $18,000.  In 1972 he had the partnership agreement amended in a way that would almost certainly ensure he would be fully in charge as the Managing General Partner with little possibility of being dislodged, and he convinced a majority of the ownership group to sign it.  In 1976 one of the owners wanted out because of this, and Al bought his 15% - and now had a total of 25%.

In 1983 Ed McGah, the remaining large partner of the original group of investors died, leaving his interest to his wife.  In addition to her and Al, there remained heirs of the original half dozen or so investors who each had small percentages.  Each investor interest had 1 vote, regardless of their ownership %, and Al always had the votes to remain Managing General Partner regardless of his conduct.

When McGah died, Al froze his widow out, not even providing her with the K-1's from the partnership she needed in order to file her tax returns.  Lawsuits and claims went on for years before Al finally settled with Mrs McGah in 2005, and he ended up with her interest as well.  A few years later he sold a portion of his interest to Wall St investors, but maintained near 50% of the team, and full control.  Another player was Al's chief executive and legal advisor, Amy Trask.  She departed when Al did, I imagine she was rewarded handsomely over the years for her part in all this.

Al's wife and son inherited his ownership in the team, and his position as Managing General Partner.  Now these assholes want to move the team Al stole.  Oakland ought to slap an Eminent Domain claim on them and take the team.

from what i heard today...they most likely wont get the chance as the Chargers have very little else to do but make the move to LA

You're right. Tennessee can keep the Oilers.

why can't the raiders move into Levi stadium with the niners?

They don't want to.  Cal and Stanford and the Raiders and 49ers all insist on having their own stadiums.

What should have happened was San Francisco and Stanford sharing a stadium, and Cal and the Raiders sharing one.  It's ridiculous building these things for 6-8 home games a year, plus whatever other events they can lure.

At this point It doesn't matter,  they will find a way to screw it up. I don't know very much about the new coach (Hue Jackson), but his first player decision should be to get rid of  johnny football.

You're right about Manziel of course.  Watching his immaturity and party animal antics, who would ever have guessed he'd be an asshat in the NFL?

But that's the to be named GM's job.  Even that person would have to get buy in from the owners to make a move like that.

How about RGIII in Washington.  The Redskins gave up THREE No 1 picks and a Second Round pick to St Louis to move up from the 6th overall pick to the 2nd.  The Rams then used some of those picks to move down and get more picks.

Good thing Redskins picked Cousins in the Second Round that year.

hometown Eagles seem to have no clue

trostol

A Very good thing.
Who knew that Cousins would play so well that he would take this team to the playoffs?
I'll tell you who, Mike Shanahan, that's who. But the RGIII stink took MS down in Washington and he can't seem to land another job in the NFL.  Shanahan was being strongly considered for the HC job in SF, but Chip Kelly swooped in and  landed the job this afternoon.  Wow!
That should be fun to see if Chip can fix this team. and even better:  who will he start as QB next season!

eddie dean

apparently Colin Kaepernick's Jersey was in the bargain bin for the last part of the season.  now that Chip Kelly has been named head coach of the Niners,  Kaepernick's jerseys is back to full price on 49ers / NFL website!! haha

and now my Bucs have named Dirk Koetter as coach..was pretty much bound to happen

The Eagles miss good ole' Andy so much they hire his long time assistant/OC.  After this past season with Kelly, I don't blame them.

its generally being viewed as a blah choice here lol

Rumor is that Johnny Finger is going to be gone now.  Hopefully he can find a Professional FratBoy League to take part in.

I'd rather have Chip than Shanahan, only because they'll fire him faster than they would Shanahan.  Chip may have been the best they could get, pretty sure he'll stink it up.

Mel Kiper Jr's first mock draft has Cleveland picking Cal's QB Jared Goff.  He doesn't deserve that mess.

I wanna say Cleveland should have never gotten a team again when they left for Baltimore

I give him 2.5 years in SF.
