in a letter that lengthy, there would sure to be a misstep.

Your supposition is false. You are disqualified. I'm sorry.

I am sure there are still girls in the future. Your supposition is false. You are disqualified. I'm sorry.

Um....like...all parts of Canada are livable now, so not sure what he is talking about.

I don't see a whole lot of Syrian refugees hoofin' it to the Yukon to start homesteading with readily-available off-the-shelf technology. Do you?

Your supposition is false. You are disqualified. I'm sorry. Just sayin

So far, it's a dud.  What do you think?

It may well be, but we don't have enough information to make that determination yet. Your conclusion is invalid. You are disqualified. I'm sorry.

A good writer could have hacked that out in less than an hour. Tops.

Keykou

Sadly, no information to prove anything.

But it's nice to hear that in 500 years some people only have to work 20 hours a week.

To all time travelers I have a question.

I have no doubt we can make a hole in space/time (that's probably easy to do).

But the big question is, how does the machine open on top of solid ground, on a moving earth, somewhere in the utter vastness of space/time?

The "door" has a spacetime coordinate lock. That's also why it operates so seamlessly. Also, you need to put a door in first before you can travel back in time to it. Timetravel 101 really

Are you expecting to invent time travel by catching a time traveler in a logical contradiction?

I think you might have better luck with a bait and hook. Literally.

So you put the door in and then does it stream a constant string of coordinates you can choose the exact day and time you want to come to?

Or does it stream only one day in the past and them you shut it down and move it some where else?

You know because the door does exists every day in the future after you install it on that one day in the past.

Beats me, I mean I'm no expert or anything. I only took the short introductory course. ;)

'Allo!
With you still i am.
I looked briefly at the missive.
Indeed it reads like middle school indoctrination film by disney corp, not the language, slang,or exposition of an adult any time or place.
The author is probably an fourteen year old son of some faceless burocrat or civil servant who got all this from reading bad comic books.
Maybe it's from fArt Bull's grand-son???
"B_B"

Jackstar

I'm leaning towards this just being a creative art project--which is exactly the cover a real time traveler would use.

Don't you see? This letter is just a ruse; Art has another letter.

Still more plausible than the sandworm jet fuel theory.

46blitz

It's clever in that that this will appeal to millennials and the generation just prior.   It's vague and full of generalities plus a few good excuses.  Very ripe for an individual to fill in preconceived ideas that they already have.  Similar to how they vote in elections.  Got to know your audience!

True, but I was also referring to people that actually read it.

Think of the creativity of Frank Herbert or Philip K Dick...and how they would have written this piece...

It could be a subtle PR for Dave Norry.  He is going to have an "event" at the Queens Theatre in Toronto in a couple of weeks.  He has remarked on the air that there will be some "surprises."  I can envision one of those surprises being a visit through a "door" by a Time Traveler.  This e-mail to Art could begin a buzz of comments and curiosity around the town and get more attendees at Dave's event.

Think what a backend trump this would be for Dave Norry.  The e-mail sent to Art is being used to foster his event.  You may call me reaching and cynical but I would not put anything past some groups.  It is a cleverly written letter.  Let's see if a "time-traveler" pops up at Dave Norry's event in two weeks.

And, Dave Norry if your PR person did not suggest this, well, maybe you need to look further.  This is just my Starbucks on it, and now I will retreat and close the door behind me for a short while.

Interesting idea.  He did mention having a portable time doorway for emergency field deployment.

I don't think this is necessarily a davebot.  For one thing it's written a bit too intelligently than I've seen from Dave or any of his minions. Of course I certainly could be wrong.  But still don't think he's a real TT.  Although I'd like to believe the future is so bright, it seems a bit too utopian like someone who's binge watched a bunch of old Star Treks.
A good test - ask David something easy to check from the future like next Friday's Dow closing or the next Red Sox game's final score.

This information tips it over the top for me. It's fake. Final answer.

Ick.  The more I think on this, the more I think you're right.  I didn't know about the Toronto thing.  It's a pretty big "coinshidensh".  Totally disgusting if true.  I smell a rat...not a cute mousie like you.
Actually more like a really stinky koala

Wait, I thought Dave was already confirmed as a time-traveler by some C2C guest. Supposedly he is radio host in the 22nd century named "Dexter Monterrey."

Just for fun, lets have a recap of evidence pointing to fake.
The self professed time traveler said,  "I work for the Ministry of Temporal Affairs as a personnel director for our permanent station in the present day", Answer is, there is no such thing as a Ministry of Temporal Affairs, in the present day.
Next he said: "We have free healthcare, free education", Answer, we already have that, but free isn't free, the people are taxed beyond belief for this, and it does not include Collage or University.
Next he claimed: "There are still cars but most of them are not personally owned. Instead they are communal. If you need a car you just go to a depot and pick one up and return it when you are finished with it", Answer, we already have it, its called Zip Car, many cities have this car rental service.
Anybody else want to chime in with their evidence, lets have some fun.

That is not evidence.

You do not have that.

... and? This means essentially nothing whether in or out of context.

OK, if people are still up in arms at all about this by the time there is one, I'll call into the GabCast and explain. Circumstantial evidence always leads to a delightful row.

I think you'd be better off getting back to the guy who "hacked Top Secret NSA servers" and found "documents." With that much horseshit, there's a pony in there somewhere.

Disqualified, no sense of humour.
