I'm standing at the crossroads in the desert.  Will Heather Wade take off down the lonely highway with a new incarnation of Midnight in the Desert? Was last night's show a soft landing to one of greatest radio careers ever of one Arthur William Bell, III?  Will we wake up soon to find Art's stalker has been caught and he decides to resume shows on the DMRN or other network?  Nobody knows the future for sure what the future really holds.  I know I've met a lot of really cool people here since July, and that no matter what happens the friendshps will continue. For the sake of support and continuity, I will continue to make the charts for MITD as long as the show lasts in some incarnation and hope that Heather will continue the tradition of Art, but with her unique style.

Friday (11/21) with Brendon Tarpley - Time traveller
Thanks for the post! I'm going to start lobbying for pallidan's "Heather at the Handle" title for a new show--but MITD is a great title too!

That's awesome! As long as Heather likes the title.  As I learned in the emergency Gabcast last night, she quit her day job to be Art's Producer. Then last night she jumped into the hot seat with about 10 hours notice - that takes guts!

Do you know if MV is going to post it?

I don't know.  It was quite the catharsis and has its place, but we really didn't learn anything new that any regular visitor here on bellgab wouldn't already know.

Friday night - I think you missed a song.  I seem to remember one with kind of a "surf" guitar chords sound, sort of like K.D.Lang type, very soft with lyrics like "love you ..."
I checked all of the ones on this list on YouTube but none of them are it.  did you miss any of the bumber music songs for Friday night?

Highly unlikely that I missed any, the one you are referring to is Tito and Tarantula - After Dark.

It sounds like it yes, but for some reason it is not quite how I remember the sound of it. There are several versions on YouTube by that group. I will have to listen to them until I find the one with the surf/country guitar chords I remember from last night. thank you very much ...

Very much obliged Dyna-X!  Couldn't remember who sung the "Stumbliin In" song! Sure takes me back to some wonderful memories with a special someone!
Lying under the coconut palms, tropical summer sea breezes on a moonlit night on Pompano Beach, Florida! Some Boones Farm strawberry wine, a bit of Colombian Gold and a transistor radio! What a time, simpler times!!!  Makes me misty!

Haha I love it - Great story Betty!  And great to see another music list from you Dyna!  What a fun time hearing Art again last nite.

Thanks Zeebo and Betty, as long as there are Art shows there will be Art's charts :) If anyone wonders what a bumper song was during a show (Art's or Heather's) just leave a post or PM me with the date and approximate time during the show and I'll let you know.

For that matter I can guess most late 60s, 70s and 80s tunes from any context if they got any significant airplay in the day, I enjoy finding those :) You know those songs that drive you crazy until you find them again? :)
