Me love new show

Art sounds refreshed, renewed, tanned, rested and ready. The show sounds like he just picked up where he left off in his heydey. I'm most impressed. Also, the audio quality of those Skype calls is just creepy, like they're in the room with him. I have only two complaints. First, they need their own app or just a better way of listening to the playback of the show 'cause their current web interface ain't cuttin' it. Second, I hope Art will have more credentialed scientists on to discuss matters of science. Linda Moulton Howe is nuttier 'n three coats of paint, as is Graham Hancock, Richard Hoagland and the rest of the old roster. It makes for entertaining radio, with Art at the helm, but I take science seriously and I don't like to hear it bent over and ass raped by people with cotton candy between their ears. Still and all, I'm thrilled Art is back and am having fun with it.

I loathe the Skype thing all together. In all the inconsistencies of the audio, sometimes they're louder than Art.  Nothing beats the old 1K sound of a phone. It's classic.

As far as guests go? I'm fine so far. Let it breathe and grow..    If noory can float this long with guests, I'm sure Art will be fine.

Right?

For straight science, without interpretation, you can pick up a text book.
I like speculation.  I like people theorizing.  I like hearing the possible ramifications of new information.

Is religion only the domain of the faithful?  Is science only the domain of scientists?

I say the answer to both is NO.

If you disagree with these people, you're free to call in and say so.  Argue with them, not us.

It's these sorts of programs that often get young people initially interested in a field.  Some people will never crack open a history book on their own, but they WILL read well researched historical novels.

I would love to have Dawkins on the show, but Art cannot do it because the fundies who listen would not like it.

I completely agree, he sounds as though he is really loving this system.

Me love new show long time.

And I prefer strange but true over boring or credulous.

I am also impressed with the new show.  LMH did sound a bit word salad crazy but that is not Art's fault.  She has to raise her game now that Art is back.

It has been two years since I left Noory to wait for Art.   I had to leave Noory; he was so bad.  I came on here a couple of times when Noory was on and even got yelled at by Noory for making rude remarks!!  It was great.  Does Noory ever come by anymore?

My sentiments exactly.  I listen to this stuff much the way I read cutting-edge science articles or even science fiction.  It's thought-provoking to wonder about what might be.  In fact sometimes it's this exact kind of speculation which ends up propelling our knowledge forward.

norland2424

it really does have an old 90's feel but with a better sound quality to it, way better then DM to be honest

Is anyone else freaked out by the frequent mention of the 90s as the old days?  To me the 90s will always be the future.  For god's sake, the year 2000 is the old days.  I don't deal with the passage of time well.

Yes for the show to succeed it needs to feel like 2015, which is does. The Skype lines, worm hole, etc.

I'm happy with the direction of the show so far. Every nights been a hit in my book.

Jesus Keerist! I was living in Vegas in the Late 80's and listening to Art Bell when he was a Local radio Show! ;D

You are seriously messing with my mind! (Actually I'm finding this somewhat therapeutic.). Never understood how it could always be now but now became then without me doing anything.

flimflam384

Just seems like I'm drifting forward in the fourth dimension at the usual rate of one second per second...

and BLAMMO it's 2015.  Just like that.

norland2424

i remember it being maybe 97 or 98 listening to art on c2c , when i was 12 or 13, now im almost 30 so it does feel like the old days to me lol.

Fearlessjay

I always loved the science shows most of all. Introduced me to a lot of stuff way back then, and Art always sounds so energized. I would love a bigger selection then just Michu though as it tends to be nearly always the same show. Some amazing stuff happening in Cern and AstroPhysics at the moment and would love Brian Greene, or Neal Degrasse Tyson, or anything along that ilk. Listening to Noorie doing this was always so painful.

flimflam384

Yeah, I would LOVE to hear Art do a show on CERN with a **reputable** scientist.  None of this portals to hell garbage I keep seeing when looking up CERN on Youtube.

Fearlessjay

Portals to hell thing kinda reminds of how I react whenever there is a fascinating mystery in Earths past and it ends up been Aliens did it.

IMHO the show is doing what it needs to do to survive. The hunger is still there like it was in the old days, both by us and by Art. Its like the friend you had who knew you like nobody else who had to go away and came back, only better. Its the exception to the rule of anybody, everybody is replaceable...not in this case. That thing you felt in your gut that needed to be fed is there like it was back in the day. Now a different crowd will be experiencing what we all did. Those who have had to endure the C2C of now days, never having experienced what it was like before Art left, now are understanding what all the hype was about and are no doubt realizing that it wasnt hype after all, but based in honesty...it feels so good to be home again.

Yep.

Which is why Art, and his loyal listeners and callers, frustrate the bean-counters, paralegals, and company men at iHateMedia, Inc.
