Tonight was the best I've heard Art Bell sound since the late 1990s.  He's really back, and he's found his groove.

It's like some alternate universe where he never left Coast, just decided to change the name to Midnight in the Desert. He has not lost a step.

It's pure magic.  I thought I could hear him shaking off a little bit of rust in the first few shows.  Tonight he shone like a diamond.  His voice was impeccable, his pacing was flawless, and his curiosity was completely authentic. Damn, I'm happy.

That'd be hilarious.  But the main thing to know is that you can get sounds like that out of just about any long thin cavity, just from resonances with surrounding vibrations.
