What medium or methods did you use to hear MITD first show tonight

Nighthawk

The show is still going obviously. But so far I have received it with the Tune in App on smart phone, and on all 4 shortwave stations listed as carrying the show. I tuned into each one and they were all good quality listenable signals. However WTWW out of Tennessee on 5085 Khz was by far the strongest. Pinning the needle here 20+ signal here in Washington State. I then went on to go out to my vehicle and attempt to tune in all of the AM broadcast bands stations listed as carrying the show. I thought from here I might have a chance hearing the 10 000 watt Anchorage station or perhaps the Salt Lake affiliate. However I did not hear any of them. Either too much interference from adjacent stations or just not optimal conditions tonight. On one of the frequencies I heard you know who (noory) coming in loud and clear jamming any hope of hearing the affiliate broadcasting Art. I quickly turned the dial. Now back listening with the tune in app via WIFI. It has not dropped out or anything. Good solid stable stream. I was very impressed with the shortwave stations. However I noted that the delay was significantly longer on the shortwave audio than on the tune in app. I was listening to both at the same time and the shortwave stations were at least another 15 -20 seconds behind. Personally I like listening on the radio more than the app.

Listened to on my PC with headphones on off of the Artbell site direct live stream, while playing SWTOR and killing Jedi scum.

Murder101

I listened on the Tune in App on my ipod with it connected to my Stereo. the skype calls sound amazing.

Tunein on Galaxy s3 plugged into car stereo cruising the valley like a doctor y'all hear? Like a certifiable physician. 8)

Was planning on using my phone but ended up listening on my laptop via the DMDN pop up player.

Husband and I listened via Tune In, on a Samsung.  I'm amazed at the quality sound!

For the second show, Dark Matter pop-up. Quality sounded about normal. Listened to the test show on the time traveller mp3s via my Note 2. Some on the way in over Bluetooth and my car radio, the rest on a cheap Plantronics headset I have at work. When everything was working quality was absolutely amazing. Gong to listen in again tonight, since I was supposed to be sleeping and missed some of the show.

AALinQ is my mp3/audio player on the phone. This program is a lot better at keeping tracks and such in order, than any of the other apps I've used. Also good about remembering where you are. I go through a lot of audiobooks on my commute.

Gong to try Foobar soon.

ShayP

I listened through my PC.  (TuneIn/DM)

I also tested my TuneIn app for Android and that worked.  Doubt I'll use it much though.

My disappointment is not picking it up on shortwave. I heard mostly static.  I think I'm in a bad location and I don't have my external antenna.

Test4echo

I used laptop and Blackberry Z30. Tried Tunein App on both and DMDN pop up player on both.

The first hour was great, however after that the stream began to slowly break down and finally it became unlistenable. It was as if the stream lost a stereo channel and I could not hear Art nor most of the bumper music. I could however hear Graham ok.

Something funky was going on for sure.

Tune In App on an Amazon Fire TV box - sounded good on my TV speakers. Tried SW too with a Sangean 803a radio.

NightsAtSea

I listened with the Dark Matter pop-up player, except when I briefly switched to the TuneIn app on my phone so I could go brew some more tea without missing any of the show. Both work very well for me, though I prefer being at my PC since the sound quality is so much better with my headset.

ItsOver

On an Android, hooked into a Denon stereo set-up.  Then, switched to just the Android with Bose headphones when I started nodding-off.

The sound quality is just fantastic with a good set-up.  It's really great to hear Art's bumper selections in stereo.  BOC's "Don't Fear the Reaper" really made me smile.

The Time Traveler MP3s sounded significantly better than the DMDN pop up. Going to try the streams tonight for sure if I am up. Seemed like an entirely different conversation. On the MP3s, I noticed after Graham reconnected, his call was not as high quality, but still reasonable. Honestly never heard an MP3 from an online show this good.

Still I have a heck of a lot of factors to check before I can say one is better than the other.

paladin1991

Listened via laptop.  Tried to pick it up fm Kacc 1050, Loma Linda.  No dice.  Distance or atmospherics probably.
Since I work this evening, I'll pick it up via my phone.

3OctaveFart

TuneIn via PlayStation Vita. When that charge died an iPad.

ZomZom

Used Safari on my MacBook Pro to stream the AAC feed, bounced that to an Airport Express connected to my Denon receiver and 5.1 setup in my media room. Sounded wonderful.

DanTSX

Tune in varying between my iMac and iphone

Tonigt will be shortwave because it feels better to use actual rado waves.1

AAC stream in VLC on my PC....smooth as velvet!

only a queer would listen via this method.

The sound was FABULOUS on my iPhone when I used my little Bose Bluetooth speaker with it. I used the TuneIn app. My only frustration was the app kept crashing and/or having to stop and re-buffer, so I had to listen to this damn Toyota Tundra commercial about 90 times each time the stream started up again.

I blame my crappy ancient iPhone 4 and my equally crappy ancient wireless router, though.

I fell asleep during Hour 2. I feel ashamed. And old. Fortunately I have Time Traveler access, will travel.

mikealden

Caught it on KXL in Portland. Was great hearing it on the radio. Neat hearing the local announcer bring it in at the bottom of the hour.

I suppose two empty bean cans with a long piece of string across a continent and the Atlantic doesn't count as innovative?  :-\

=Schlyder=

MITD popout player on my PC... through my Yamaha HSM80 studio monitors.
Everything sounded very good.  Art in studio... guest... callers... bumper music,  were all nice and clear, and mixed well.

The only thing sound quality-wise that I noticed,  was that the trademark "thunderclap" didn't satisfy.
It was rather flat sounding and not very powerful.  It would be nice if that got tweaked for the better stereo sound.

Tried them all out, pretty much but listened on SW with my Sony ICF-SW11.
