how are you going to listen to the show

thought it might be good to share ideas on ways to listen to art in the new "internet radio format"
lets hear how you intend to do it
for myself i like the sound of the show from speakers, rather than ear buds..the old fashioned way
im using my ipad or iphone bluetoothed through little mini boom blutooth speakers placed on top of my old bedroom radio
cheaper than buying an internet radio, and in stereo also ...use what you have on hand

I purchased the Grace Mondo internet radio especially for this.  I've not listened to other shows on this radio yet, but I can say that Art comes through perfectly on it.  I've had a number of radios.  I thought my favorite was the Sangean, (the Sirius home radio seemed foggy/slushy to me), but Art came through perfectly and this is the first time that I could actually make out the lyrics of the songs he played.

I'm so glad that he started out with the music that he used to play - everyone associates that with Art even though the 'other' plays it.

God, do I hope he and Keith get the bugs out of the system.  If all they have available is microwave, then won't they be hit with this problem at every storm?

The CCrane internet radio was advertised as having 99 presets, I think.  My Mondo has only 10.

however I tried last night to tune into the Portland blowtorch that will carry Art and it was crystal clear. I'm south of Sacramento. was great.

We were trying them all out. Both formats from the DM site plus the Tune in app. We were also listening on the Flame Thrower 100,000 Watt station WTWW @ 5085 KHz. Ted Randall, the owner of WTWW, like Art/WB6OBB and myself Wade/KJ4WS, is a Ham Radio Operator. At about 60 Air Miles from me, it is really nice to have such a station almost in my Back Yard. Ted, was running a One Minute Delay of the program. All modes seemed to be dropping out at the same times when the audio feed was bad. I am looking forward to listening on the two other Short Wave Stations tonight. I am quite sure that Ted, at WTWW, would be very happy to get Signal Reports from listeners. Just take a moment and think about this folks. The most Power Output allowed from the Commercial Broadcast Stations, AM Broadcast stations, is limited to 50,000 Watts. So its like that Other Show is on at Half Power .. Art just started back up and has Three Stations at Twice that output already. Art, is Kicking Butt and writing down names... Till next time ( 73 ) Best Regards from Wade/KJ4WS

The smartphone route is the simplest and easiest for me, but I'm tempted to pick up the stream on my little Raspberry Pi and then push it through the house with my C.Crane FM Transmitter.

Since the closest terrestrial radio to me is Toronto's 1010AM, I'll probably try my luck with that too. I haven't been able to get a comfortable lock on it during my tests, but I didn't try during the night hours yet.

Dr Who

same as I did last night via a 500 w pioneer amp

KJ4WS

Don't forget about the Short Wave Stations. WTWW in Tennessee 5085 kHz. And WBCQ, in Maine 7490 and 9330 KHz. These are 100,000 Watt Flame Throwers, at Twice the output power of even the largest Transmitter that Other Show has. We paid our $5.00 but, still are having fun listening over the air waves The little C. Crane radios work great.

Has anyone tried the archives yet?  Mine has no sound when I tried to run the test show.

last night I did the tunein thing... (edit) tunein through iphone4.  it was my work cell btw.  not really the apple type.  tonight I'm going with a lapper and some regular ol pc speakers.  I was thinking of coming home from work and setting an alarm to wake me up to listen live.  not sure if I can do that every night.

Cool, some really good ideas, this is a new medium in "radio" and we all can learn...
I think in spite of what I said earlier I might invest in a c crane radio
The cost will be covered by DUMPING sirus sattelite radio,my contract is up in August
And I'll be sure to give them my opinion when asked why
Very exiting times.....thanks art

TuneIn app on my iPhone, either with Klipsch X11i earbuds or in my car while commuting.  Fidelity of last night's show was outstanding.

I was pleasantly surprised with the clarity over shortwave (WTWW) during the test show.  I wish I still had my C.Crane Pocket SW but the antenna broke and it only gets AM now.

If at home I'll probably listen to the AAC stream on PC.  Otherwise I'll use TuneIn on my Android when I'm away from home.

I was impressed with quality of the SW broadcast also! So awesome! I wonder how far away that signal will get (any DXers here?) Like last night during the "test" I'm going to repeat my personal test (SW, computer, phone with TuneIn App, phone with call-in #.)

In addition to playing the DM stream on my desktop PC (direct line to router) with a quality audio amp plus bookshelf speakers, I use my android Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone via wifi using the TuneIn Pro app with a good bluetooth speaker for other rooms.
I also can hear it on my new Samsung Smart TV or my smart BluRay player via wifi,  both have a TuneIn app and hookup to my Denon 5.1 receiver and speaker system plus subwoofer.
