I just listened to that. It was pretty darn cool, she did a bang up job. (bang up is good) :)

Big thumbs up.

I'm going to be honest here... Redacted has done a lot for Art, and in turn a lot for us fans. I appreciate all of it, thank you so much, however.... Having her on the test show is one thing, but as awesome of a person as she is, she has no place on Art's show. I think everyone knows that. I don't mean that in any negative way against her, and I hope she and others don't take this personally, but moving forward without her on the show is probably the best option. I love this forum and I'm not trying to take a shot at her or anyone, but Art should be working alone, for the good of both his show, and his fans.

Is that your opinion, or are you stating that as some sort of proven theorem?

Seems proven... From Art's Facebook page. His status as of 30 minutes ago, direct quote: "Ok, you do not wish me to have a co-host. No problem, it was only a test show".

Again, it wasn't a shot at Redacted personally... :(

This isn't how science works. Stick to armchair marketing, that's a good chap.

One and done is as proven as it gets in music, movies, and television... Your responses are pretty much turning this into a mean thing. It's unfortunate.

I posted this in another thread.

Much ado about nothing being this is ws a test show.  I wish I could've "co-hosted" with Art Bell.  Who wouldn't?  Redacted was fortunate to experience it, and from what I've seen she has done quite alot to support Art Bell and clearly is an important part of this forum.  I simply cannot understand why there is an uproar during the first program...errrr...test show.

I agree with your post overall.  I prefer Art alone.  However if he chooses an occassional co-host I'm fine with that.  I don't know Redacted and I don't know if she's an awesome person as you stated.  I do think she did a nice job.

Again, like you...given my preference...I feel Art should work alone.

Nonetheless....Art is back and that's all that matters.
Cheers to all....and congrats to Redacted for riding shotgun with Art and helping the cause.

I think it's best if we stop the bickering. It's only going to make things sound hostile and offensive, not to mention hurtful, to her. Art is letting her go man, it didn't work. U.S. Getting into a pudding match isn't going to make that any easier for her.

I'm not bickering. You're simply wrong, and, your opinion is worthless.

lol. You know nothing, Jon Snow. This is me, being far more polite to you than you rate.

I enjoyed Redacted's appearance on the program and was honestly shocked to see that this is such a polarizing topic. I can't fault anyone for having preferences, especially not when the preference is based on getting as much Art Bell as possible! But I am a little disappointed to hear that she won't be  back on, and I hope that I can catch her on GabCast and elsewhere. She really does have a fantastic voice for radio and asks keen, pertinent questions.

Teeming hordes of slack-jawed mouthbreathers totally lost their shit over Howard Stern and Robin Quivers, as well.

Absurd proportions of the human population are just irredeemably stupid. After tonight's events, I've decided to give up my last vestiges of tolerance.

In today's world, it seems to be the "in thing" to figure out was pisses someone off, and join the crowd. Too bad for them.

In my opinion, Redacted did an awesome interview with Art before hand. It sounded like she should be working on one of the major networks herself. Listening on the Gabcast, I see Redacted as being a great anchor point that offsets all of the other craziness. I like to have fun and be a smart alec, too, but it's good to have that steady "straight man" type of person, just like the best comedy teams.

During Bella Haven, Nancy brought up an article about women in broadcasting. I'm of the notion that Nancy and Rosie are sticking their necks out to see if something works. Art's doing that, too. I just hope he doesn't make a major tweak and jumping to the "doesn't work" decision too soon. All of these ladies do a wonderful job with their new endeavors, and I hope they'll continue to.

Bella Haven is a great way to keep things rolling after Art's show closes, and have more discussion. If Art would have Redacted on occasionally for open lines, or whatever, he'll only add to his show, not lose anything. I know everyone is excited about Art being back, and the withdrawals are horrendous. No one has ever said Redacted would be on every night that Art is.

To wrap this post up, I very much respect what these ladies are doing. I've considered for several years figuring out doing a podcast, or some other project, but never have the nerve to start it rolling. I'm glad Art's back, and I'm in Redacted's corner!

I am in Art's corner on this. His show, his money, his risk, his decision. I get that some may not like another voice. That is fair. The other stuff, fuck them.

Best news so far. That was painful last night. This is not amateur hour, it is Art Bell.

Redacted talked about pirates but she forgot how this site once streamed old Art Bell shows. Now that Art gives this place attention, they can't stand pirates. Talk about being hypocrites.

The thing that amuses me is the test show was up in it's entirety with tons of links to all Art Bell sites and a show description on all the Torrent sites within a hour of Art going off the air. But it took them awhile to get it out on DMRN and people are bitching about the download being in three parts and being more difficult that just pirating it.

This happens the day after Art speaks heavily about using pirates to go after pirates.  ;D

Hey that reminds me, I'm still looking for that show from 1997. ARRR, MATEY

I haven't heard any of this yet, but I think anyone who has complained about this broadcast seems to be expecting some sort of instant chemistry, which is going to be impossible. I can't think of anyone (whatever their broadcast experience) who could walk into a gig like that and hit it out of the park first time out. Added to that, I imagine that she must have been unbelievably nervous, knowing that there are all these internet pricks ready to jump on anyone who tries to do anything. Tall Poppy Syndrome at its worst.

Or maybe it just wasn't any good and not necessary. That doesn't play well with the white knight agenda, though. In this world where even the fat slow kid gets a medal I expect no less.

Art, it was a bad idea.

You don't knock down a coconut with every throw. I'd rather cut someone a little slack when it's their first time out than jump on them straight out of the gate. Art has to trust his instincts as a broadcaster, which are better than mine, and maybe even yours.

By the way, I wonder how many fat slow kids who didn't get any encouragement grow up and spend their days on internet forums knocking other people?

Not many, most of them got angry, wanted revenge, got their shit together and became sexy adults.

That's you being a sexy adult again  ;). You have a point, though; I never even heard that show and I am prepared to believe that he was as bad as everyone said. The difference in this case is that we know a little bit more about the person involved, and that she's not some carpetbagger out for a bit of cheap publicity. Like a lot of people here, she is a fan and was prepared to put herself out there, which surely demands a certain amount of respect. It's as genuine as these things get, even if it doesn't happen to be to your taste. I prefer Art as unadulterated as possible, though, but I am open to the idea of a second voice on occasion.

Respect? Why?
That's like continuing to encourage your tone deaf cousin when she announces she is selling everything she has to move to Nashville to become the next big country singer.
Know your limitations and work within them. I know I would suck at co-hosting with Art, which is why I would never put myself in a position to fail like that.
Art is a smart man and will adjust accordingly. This is the big time, not a learn-as-you-go position.

Fat slow kind, tone deaf cousin - you are going to be running out of similes soon. They told Gene Hackman he was useless and would never make it as an actor, but he seemed to do alright. Many people achieve success by working through adversity and nay-sayers, particularly in show-business. That's what distinguishes so many successful people from those who trundle through life in the middle lane. That's fine, if that's what you want, but don't make it the rule for everyone else. There is a reason why Wayne has more assists than any other player has points. He knew when not to shoot and when someone else was in a better position to score.
