The powers that be are talking about opening the Bonne Carre spillway to east the load on the Mississippi. This would flood a lot of lowlands and farming land. We are lucky in that we have a wind out of the north so its keeping the water flowing south instead of holding it in the river.

Happy New Years 2016 to everyone.  I needed to take a break from all the b.s. and Negativity of this forum.  But I'm back, at least for now.   I have been chatting with Heather and she is saddened by the negativity of what Bellgab has become... she feels the good folks should take it back and that it should be what it once was ... I wish and hope that this could happen; but in reality, not sure, sigh. Although, tonight will be an excellent show for everyone (IMHO)!

Back in the old days I had a real life. I have never seen the X-Files. Too late to binge watch them now, so I guess I will wait until these 6 episodes air and then figure out if I want to watch the series in order.

As far as taking back the forum, that is a pipe dream. The trolls will either get tired and leave, or they won't. MV has made it pretty clear that he is not going to throttle the trolls unless they post porn or violate the few rules in the TOS. I've engaged their stupidity to a point, but now I just have them on ignore.

I don't understand the mindset (or lack of mind) that it takes to post the same negative crap over and over. I spoke my mind on the last GabCast. As long as we have an unmoderated forum, there is going to be some degree of litter. I'm still a newbie, so I don't know how long this went on when Dark Matter ended.

I have about 20 people on ignore right now, and that has made it more tolerable. It ruins the continuity when trying to read the threads, but it keeps my blood pressure down.

This user community is bizarre. There are some very intelligent people here. Their commentary has caused me to go off and do research and actually learn some things. Even the random fat dude from Missouri has taught me things.

Since this forum started out as a George Noory Sucks community, there are always going to be people that are going to be negative. Since Art loves a good conspiracy, there are always going to be people that see a conspiracy in anything Heather or Art say or do.  Last night in the live thread, they were reading things into the choice of the bumper music. So, while there are some really intelligent people here, there are others that should seriously investigate retroactive birth control. Not everyone here is of sound mine. Add in the alcohol consumed before and during the show, and it can get pretty unpleasant.

If Art and Heather want this place to calm down, my recommendation is that neither of them should post here. The Art Bell thread was just about calmed down until (Redacted) came in the other night. That stirred up the pot again.  I get why she did it, but it stirred it up nonetheless.

And then there is Falkie. Isn't he precious?

Come on, GS! You're an ex-military guy, are you not? When the enemy dropped some propaganda in your theater of operation you guys just didn't fold up and go home, did you? Most of these trolls can't even handle a witty retort. Hell, half of them would have to look up the word "retort" to even know what I was talking about. Failing that, if you have a real kamikaze zealot on your hands, the ignore list does work, as you and many of us have recently discovered. It's starting to thin out a little but these giys work in rotating shifts. watch for it!   

BTW, it's never too late to binge watch the x-files. If you don't have Netflix try Kodi. They might even be on YouTube . Either way they're highly accessible and a great series. I think I might do some of that myself before the new series starts. You should at least check out some of the early mythology episodes. Google that to learn more about which episodes I'm talking about.

I like the majority of people here. It saddens me that an opinion on a topic can cause such a divide. The music was awesome the other night. I just really wish everyone could just respect each other's views. But that isn't going to happen. People defend and protect their view points. I try and remain open minded. Because you never know.
