I've been considering the good/bad theory as being nothing more than a perspective, which depends on what situation one is in.  For example" An air conditioner would be a bad thing to a person who lives in alaska, but a good thing to a person who lives on the equator.  Just for example of course.

Yup, I'm hearing a lot of the same.  My dad is 94, and he says the same thing.  I see it as kind of a love/hate thing.
