Hi Serenity. I went to your site looking for show #26. I don't mean to be rude, but your home page is not so easy to decipher.  After clicking a number of possible "listen" links a file began downloading calling itself "radio" with no extention and a question-mark icon. That was about 45 mins ago (it's now 6:30am Pacific) and it's still downloading and is currently at about 33 mb.
Is this how it's supposed to work?
How big are the files typically?
Where is the list of numbered shows, 18 to 26 I take it.
Please include Time Zone indicators in all posts and pages if you would.

I enjoyed show #25, hearing the boss-man in particular was illuminating.

Now I'm up to 44 mb after approx 50 mins and no end in sight.

Ok, thanks, might have to catch any reply later tonight, we'll see.
Bye.
Here is where I go first thing to catch last nights replay Meister.  https://soundcloud.com/search?q=bella-haven
Hope that helps ya! :)

after I finish hearing Bella-Haven, then I usually tune in to serenitys stream :)

Maybe i should clarify. The stream link you cut and paste into your media player It then plays the stream. Or you can listen on the page itself. Sorry for the confusion.
Try this, open your media player. Cut this http://aliendreams.ddns.net:8000/radio past it into your player. Enjoy!
The links arent downloadable, they are streaming addresses. Hope that helps

And brig ty for tea idea ;)

Brig, is my radio page confusing? I did try to make it as self explanatory as possible. I clicked on the stream link and got the download or open with box. IYO how can i make it better?

I think Meister was looking for a link to select last nights Bella_Haven podcast, or to a link to find whichever Bella_Haven show Meister might have missed....like on soundcloud, which I don't see on your page.  When I copy/paste your player link, I get the same stream that is playing when I open your website page.  Does that help a bit? Or am I misunderstanding?  Don't hesitate to splain more so I can help you with what you are looking for help with,  I am here :)

On my computer serenity, I don't copy paste the link into my player, I just click on it, and it automatically opens up in my VLC player, which I have set as default.

Yeah that helps a lot. It seems to be doing what it is supposed to do. I did add a note explaining that there is no download-able content. So the directions seem ok?

And yes I did have some ginger tea from my hidden stash lol

Ms. C

Just finished listening ... along with two cups of coffee and daily time on the nu-step exerciser.

LOL -- nope Nancy ... don't know anything about or care to learn about predicting someone's death.  Oy, I never even thought of that ...  ... initially, when I saw your age, Nancy, and that you are all of 7 weeks older than me ... I got very excited ... to know someone of our age that is into all this mind expanding / paranormal / Art Bell stuff ... then I noticed that I could really relate to you and feel many of your ups-and-downs ... so I thought I'd take a look at your chart -- of course the outer planets are a generational thing ... but I was also curious about any other personal planets / connections between us ... that was why my curiously of your time of birth.  I needed the date and place also ... but I got that off your social media page ... so I have everything I need.  Hey, Nancy you have an Aquarius sun and Leo moon (at 1 degree) -- so perhaps some of the Blue Moon stuff that RoseGirl has been talking about and you also -- with Sun in Leo and Full Moon in Aquarius right now ... is resonating so strongly with you ....

I am on my out out to a ladies luncheon (pre-event to our October HS Reunion -- '50 year, none the less') and will post more when I get back this afternoon ...

Thanks for taking the call. I'm using an Android smart phone which seems not to have a default player for such things. However I recalled I have an app called MX Player Pro which I discovered does accept Network Stream urls. I did the copy paste trick, and it did work, but gave extremely choppy playback (and I can find no extra settings within the app that help). The SoundCloud link from Brig earlier worked instantly and flawlesly.

Part of my difficulty on your site is the cells layout, two collumn on the top half of the page (which defaults to the right collumn on cell phones trying to display older "non-responsive" sites). The lower half of the page is then single collumn.

My overall suggestion is simple functional elegance, common standards of layouts, uniform text point sizes, uniform color of text. Prioritized content placement. Bella stuff is currently placed far lower left when it might-should be closer to top center (and in white text, not dark red on dark purple).

The body text itself is in at least 5 different point sizes where one only would suffice (apart from heads and sub-heads). The multiple text colors also cause too much confusion and are hard on the eyes both litteraly and aesthetically. White text used nearly throughout on your very dark dackground would be the more appealing choice. The red is the worst, and wouldn't ya know it that's where much of the pertinant bits of Bella info are residing.

Anyhow, those are a few of the more pressing face-lift issues and targets that come to mind. Hope they're useful. Thanks

North of the Rockies, your up next.....
Yeah, one thing I never really thought about was layout for mobile. I am still back in the stoneage when it comes to that.  While my blog does have a mobile format, the radio page does not. Hmmmmmmmm. Food for thought. And as always Thank you. Something to work on

Come join the funyuns, but watch out for the fishbots and spam (NOTE: Spam must be removed from can or you will be disqualified).

YES!  Empty Spam cans make such a nice sound when they bang into something. It would be a shame to leave the spam in it when you throw it.   Besides,  save the spam to fry up with your eggs in the morning, its too good to waste!

Well, you already have taken the plunge on your wordpress blog. Most themes provide a "landing page" home page which is and remains thematically consistent with the blog proper and would seem at this point the default solution. I don't know if you're running your own local install of WP for the blog or using an outside provider, but, the two or three links required to connect to your in-house server and it's streams should still be just as easily accessable from a cms blog page than from your current old (conventional html 4) home page.

If your blog is currently off-site hosted, I'm not sure if clicking a link from that blog to your server-stream would then incure bandwidth loads and fees?

Hope your cold or whatever passes quickly.

"North of the Rockies"  :) out.

Good morning, I love that movie 'Somewhere in Time' ... everyone needs to watch it!  And thanks for the coffee -- wish we could 3D print some from this screen to my kitchen!

New Orleans roast is good but I still prefer Community Dark. Made right here and reminds me of the Army lol.

Hi... I am super late to this party but am a longtime poster on this forum.

A quick question... This coffee of the day thing... Did you get thst from Felicia Day's Vaginal Fantasy bookclub (which if you don't know you should!)?  They begin each new show by announcing what alcoholic beverage they're enjoying (usually wine).

I'm interested in giving your show a listen. Is it on at a certain time and day?  I am in the PST zone.  Thanks!

You would love Bella-Haven. The coffee thing kinda just happened. I am an old The Guild fan but haven't seen her new one. Wine sounds about right  lol

Oh and brig....yes! And thanks

serenity

But I did forget to answer the most important question. Bella-Haven with hosts nbirnes and RoseGirl is on right after Art Bell's Midnight in the desert at Midnight Pacific. the address for the stream and chat is http://bellahaven.paranormal.chat/ or if you just want the stream it's http://50.7.71.219:7453/live.m3u.

It's kind of an Art Bell aftershow. Zenman posts topics and stuff with links here every night (so far anyway) so you will never be lost.  :)

RoseGirl

oh dear....cranking up the crazy graphics again....if you are easily offended, kindly avert your eyes...hehehehe

RoseGirl

yep...just can't stop myself
