  Though both were remarkably witty, Heckle spoke with a New York accent, while Jeckle's tone was much more refined.
The high point of any Heckle and Jeckle cartoon was always the witty banter between the feathered friends. Instead of resorting to violence, the birds bested their foes by outwitting them, and while doing so, indulged in wry commentary that made their adversaries appear even more foolish."

Hmmm...that sounds familiar.

Quote from: serenity on January 20, 2016, 10:32:54 AM
"Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds -
and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of -
wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence.
Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along
and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

"Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,
where never lark, or even eagle, flew;
and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
the high untrespassed sanctity of space,
put out my hand and touched the face of God."
When I was a little girl, this beautiful poem was read to a video of an Air Force pilot, flying his craft at a very high altitude.  This was the nightly sign off video for one of our local TV stations at the time.  I remember getting goose bumps and teary eyed by the time it was over.  I don't know whether that video is still available to watch, but I would love to see it again.

It is beautiful. I will be duly obliged to hand-embroider the heart, of course ... it's a bad version of OCD that requires  -- nay, demands! embellishment.

Dearest Nancy, thanks for the offer.
I am going to check into the cost of getting the heart, machine stitched in red and chain in silver. Or at least printed in red and silver.

Isn't there something called a "Volume Discount " the more numbered ordered,  the less cost per unit? I think McDonald's sell their french fries like that... pay a little more to get them "Super Sized" but get a lot more fries. The more Hoodies ordered the less they cost. How does free hoodies and free shipping  factor in? Any accountants here? Is there a deduction or credit thingie that applies for volume discounts?

It is something to think about. I have been flying my whole life and it is a wonder to behold being in the sky. I have always had a feeling for aircraft and like you sometimes they feel alive. Especially those that you would fly and live with. I found a quote, one of my very favorites from the movie Serenity, the last scene It sums it all up perfectly

Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: But it ain't all buttons and charts, little albatross. You know what the first rule of flying is? Well, I suppose you do, since you already know what I'm about to say.
River Tam: I do. But I like to hear you say it.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Love. You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
River Tam: Storm's getting worse.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: We'll pass through it soon enough.

And yes I get shivers

Especially right now with all the thunder, lightning and wind. Ride 'em cowboy! Thanks for the weather update Weather Cat

Know exactly what you and Serenity are referring to.
I can't stand commercial flying anymore. But look forward to the EAA flyin every year.

The video below doesn't even begin to show the excitement when they fire up a group of warbirds. It brings tears to the eyes. If I'm in town, try to go to EAA airventure flyin each year. Visit all the air museums, while traveling. I kind of an airplane nut. Best experience, on a house boat in Lake Powell and two B1 bombers flew between the red rock canyon. Pitched there planes in unison to follow the canyon walls.
