I thought she was one of those imported English teachers?  I knew a couple guys who did that.  Basically what you do when you have no other interests or qualifications than the language you were born with.

It's the real Darren from Oregon.   So funny.  What a weird thing trying to prove to everyone who you are!

I never doubted, but I'm still not convinced you're really an ostrich thief.

Hmm. Sounds perfect for me. Do you have to speak English good?

Not really; they're concerned more with speaking it idiomatically.  From what I remember, the "lessons" are mostly one-on-one or small-group conversations.  I've always kept the idea in my back pocket in case things hit the fan.

In practical terms it's an easy way to escape.  Probably not coincidentally, both of the guys I knew were younger gay men who grew up kind of rural and were eager to strike out on their own.

That sounds like a story that should be told.  I hope they write it.

I thought about doing it at one point myself but missed the boat.  I'd heard it once described as 'the last refuge of the rascal', which appealed to me.

Would make good reading, blending a touching coming-of-age narrative with the humorous potential of culture shock.  I wonder if it's been done.

Come to think of it, Michelle could probably write a similar story, but for some reason I'm not interested.

Aha a squirrel with a checkered past!  A roguish rodent.

I'm guessing one of those three camera shoots Hoagland raves about. You do know this was all his idea?

Isn't it always ?   ;)

You can't teach in Japan unless you have a college degree just an FYI.

Also 50/50 if I will be here tonight or if I will skip. Michelle as a guest is certainly an argument in favor of skipping plus I'm in a pretty blah mood.
