I wonder why he chose this network. Maybe he thinks he will have more listeners there than a cheaper station. It seems too expensive for Hoagy. He was already calling us useless eaters when it was only $1000 a month. Imagine what he will be like now that it's 5x as much. What happened to the idea of Hoagie going to Deep Talk Radio Network?  What does KCAA offer again? Tech support?  A big listening audience? Prestige?  I don't see it.

I never heard back from him about DTRN. That would've been a perfectly logical choice - and if he wanted terrestrial, nothing stopping him - expand away. Certainly no ridiculous "bandwidth charges" either.

I found out it costs to have your show broadcast on KCAA 1050.  A friend of mine inquired how he could get his podcast added to their programming line-up and received the following:

KCAA is a pay to play operation. We have a staff that provides a long list of services for our programmers. Our hourly rates ranges from $125 to $250 for one hour weekly programs.

Looking at the rest of the lineup, I do kind of find it hard to believe some of those national shows are paying to be on. If they are, I suspect it's only because they want to be able to say they have an LA affiliate.
