At least the bloody page now renders in Firefox. For many years it looked like this:

You know, none of this has anything to do with the show this thread is about The Other Side of Midnight. I have no say or control over what you or anyone else can and will post here, and in fact even if I did, I wouldn't change a thing about bellgab but there is a thread for Richard himself for stuff like this.

Thanks one and all for the welcome...I've enjoyed your senses of humor quite a bit. Richard does want me to check in from time to time and I've agreed. He and I get along well and was impressed with his topic knowledge...hint...that's the real secret for a great interview imo.

Braaaps dudes and dudettes. Braaaps...lol!  8)

Hey Dave!

Welcome to bellgab, this is Ross.

Speaking of Richard, does he plan to put out any shwag? I myself would like an RCH bobblehead doll and an OSOM mouse pad.

Looks like the server is misconfigured. Php tags are supposed to be processed server side and should not be seen in the browser window. Looks like someone screwed up.

Yes, well, the php includes are never going to get interpreted as long as the file type is .htm, are they?

There is no file tides.php or tide.php on that site.

No bobble head unless the hair is real.

You can actually tell the server to look for php tags in .htm and .html documents.  But yeah that's a sign someone doesn't know what they're doing.  I'm guessing RCH's web master is in India or the Philipines.

Can it be text based?

Does zazzle do custom watches?  A Hoagatron might be fun.

You're in a dimly lit room.  You're sitting in a chair that makes strange sounds.  The desk is strewn with mysterious photos of grainy landscapes.  On a shelf is a collection of bolo ties.

You have one Accutron.
You have one Geometry Textbook.
You have one Tube of Hair Gel.

The phone is ringing.

And it's 3am. Do you trust Richard to pick up?

Well it looks like things got pushed back a day so I'll be joining everyone tonight! Richard better not have open lines tomorrow!

i prefer it not to be..ya know..sort of like Final Fantasy with RCH lol

I was only asking because I was hoping it would be compatible with the Fireflub platform.  I'm not certain it can handle 8-bit graphics.  All I ever see are things like.. well here's what wr250's avatar looks like to me:

Haha, Firefub.  Please bring back Firefub.  I already bought all the proprietary non-standard plugins.

Morgus

I see Richard's guest tonight is now listed as Michael Cremo, author of "Forbidden Archaeology"
Should be very interesting, looking forward to the show tonight!

Oh, Firefub.  No wonder I couldn't find Fireflub in a search.

Anybody here know html? Want a laugh? Here are the first few lines of the source of Hoagland's "Mars Tidal Model" page:

<?php require("includes_v2/v2_common_1.php");?>
<html>
<head>
<title>The Enterprise Mission</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<?php require("includes_v2/js_inc.php");?>

<meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<title>Tidal Bulges on Mars</title>

The W3C markup validation service reports 2,464 errors on that page.

http://www.enterprisemission.com/tides.htm

OK, end of entertainment.
Ha ha ha ha ha   - No damn wonder - It took me 30 seconds to see that that page was rendered w/ a VERY old version of DreamWeaver. No wonder there are so many errors. Maybe I should take a half hour and fix that for him, or at least the major areas that need attention. He's using server side scripts on that page too, so his webmaster would have to look it over also. DreamWeaver is quirky to begin with when it comes to positioning layouts - especially the older versions. Most of the errors are deprecated MetaData comments like this:

<![if !supportEmptyParas]>
          <font size="3">&nbsp;</font>
          <![endif]>

...using a double 'Bang' (!) Operator (code symbol) - inline. One for the comment & one as a coded negative. It also looks like CDATA format, but it's not .That's very old use of code most likely produced by an early code generator.

RCH  -  I can clean this up for you if you like.  PM me.

yup, i haven't looked at the source of the entire page, i may later, im sure it has lots of errors.
The issue with errors isn't a problem usually when someone isn't on a smartphone or tablet, errors mostly increase load times unless they are real sloppy then they are noticeable in the text.

My first post here is to thank you Braapsters for the moral and financial support of my emdrive project, which is ongoing. - Dave Distler
Greetings Dave. Welcome to the Club & the Cult. ;)
Don't be afraid to post. There are a lot of diverse, intelligent people in this room.
This is also the home of The Golden Order of the Braap, Club 19.5, & The Cult of Braapinality.
We like to have fun here. :)

I second Chefist's Idea also:
QuoteYou have a large soapbox with RCH! It was a very good show! I would suggest you become a regular with Richard!

Make the audience part of the progress reports! Maybe just a 10 or 15 minute segment here and there...

Good luck!
