I like RCH. I know zilch about the applied sciences, but I am starting to follow what he is saying somewhat. I like his sense of humour and There is nothing like him on the air.

Neither does Hoagland, so don't beat yourself up about it.

Spinner

Yeah, what happened with Dr. Ning Li was a disgrace.

...RCH really does ask good questions though.  I hate to even admit that.

But you may have to ... if it's in the data.

ShayP

Knock on wood....I haven't had any problems listening.  No interruptions over the last few days.  Thank goodness!

I really dig the tunes!

Yes - and also, seems like a virtual impossibility that a cheesy Noory bumper would appear.

What would cause the pendulum to behave that way during a solar eclipse?

And more importantly, does anyone else pronounce "pendulum" like Hoagie does?

ShayP

When the guest mentioned speaking to an 'alien scientist' I thought Hoagie was going to stroke out.  Then the guest clarified.  ;D

Northcoaster

Hello, Hoagie fanatics! I'm just tuning in. Did I miss any gems?

What is the topic, pray tell?

I think it's zero-point energy and/or cold fusion and/or ??

Molecular quantum nuclear torsion field technology & applied socio-economics.  Er... maybe.

That about what I've managed to get out of it.

ShayP

A Bose-Einstein condensate is a dense cluster of atoms cooled so close to absolute zero that all of the atoms are in a single quantum state and can therefore be described by the same wavefunction.

How do you make it vibrate so it is then in a state of transition?  What is it transitioning into?  And are you intrigued?

*Edited to add 'nuclear'.

Sounds sciency! I'm in! :D

He lost me when he said he multiplied the diameter of a spinning disk with the frequency of a radio wave to get a speed.  That was at the start of the interview so I kind of lost my focus on the rest of the discussion.

Northcoaster

I'm so lost right now, I'm having flashbacks to advanced algebra in high school :(

Winding down on two weeks of Hoagie. I can't believe I actually look forward to the show as much as I do. Sad I haven't heard the phone ring in the background or Richard being confused on how to operate his set up. Who paid for his gear btw?

qaddisin

So he wants to use any leftover money from subscriptions to support "cutting edge" scientific work? This sounds suspiciously like Noory's "helping the needy" fund...

he said last night that the gear was donated by the guy who helped set up art
