As a scientist, Richard Hoagland is a failure.

Yes...but as a talk show host he has promise.  :D

Yeah. I'm not listening to RCH for science! A part of the fun is his insistence on his theories (saying things in passing like "crystal structure dome on the moon",) his stories/claims, his interactions with the guests/callers, and his technical troubles (!): ringing phone, Skype issues, frustrations with computer, heard live conversations that should be muted with staff and his wife, and so on. His show is a lot better than I expected and funny.

Quite right.  Listening to Hoagie for science would be like tuning into Green Acres for horticulture tips and cooking lessons.  Happy hotcakes!

I got sidetracked and never did any more research into whether Hoagland is rendering his Accutron measurements invalid by comparing his Accutron tuning fork frequency against... another tuning fork.  However, here is a video showing that quartz crystal time pieces use the same principle as Hoagland's Accutron watch.  At the very least his insistence on using an old broken down Accutron is completely unfounded.

At worst his experiment and reference are both affected by the same phenomenon, the supposed torsion field, and therefore invalid (unless he takes orientation into account, which he does not).

That's hilarious - and absolutely true, I assume, after you read Onan's post that follows shortly after.!

Tonight's guest:
Mon Aug 24 â€" Don Ecker

Don Ecker hosted the critically acclaimed radio programs UFOs Tonite! and Strange Daze for six years, interviewing the important personalities in the UFO and paranormal fields and related areas. Later, along with his close friend, television and film star Dwight Schultz of The A-Team and Star Trek fame, he hosted Dark Matters on the Reality Radio Network.

Nothing... but he's apparently friends with an actor who portrayed a minor character from an inferior a later series of Star Trek :-\

The show often reminds of trying to teach things like an answering machine or a VCR to my grandparents. Or better yet when one of them tried to explain the "gadget" that I gave them and explained its use to the other. Hoagland and his guests trying to "walk through" another expert on website navigation, skype use, the phones, etc is priceless comedy. Especially as these people are, ostensibly, "scientists" and "researchers" and go on and on about physics, photograph reproduction and analysis, and engineering of crystal palaces, structures, etc, and various types of equipment.

Morgus!

You're amazing.

Yeah, my Star Trek reference was mainly a play on words and a reference to don's friend.

Is there a guest tonight on Richard's show?  His Facebook page for The Other Side of Midnight has not been updated.

I have a good feeling about this one

It will be interesting since it's outside of Hoagland's usual sphere of interest. We're in UFO land tonight.

Will Dwight Schultz be joining Don Ecker as a surprise guest as well?
If not please try to book him as a future guest!

Can Richard Hoagland comment on this news?

Stars Wars spaceship on Mars? NASA probe spots mysterious object like 'Star Destroyer' on Red Planet

Sighting: Object spotted by Mars Curiosity Rover probe

This mysterious object spotted by NASA's Mars Curiosity Rover will look eerily familiar to millions of Star Wars fans.
A new photo taken by the probe shows a what will look, to many, like a Star Destroyer from the blockbuster film franchise.
The object was spotted by UFO expert Scott C Waring.
He said: "I found this anomaly in the latest Curiosity Rover photo. The black object looks like a crashed UFO."
Mr Waring said the spacecraft was only about 2.5 to 3 meters across, "so it probably only held a few passengers," RT reports.
