Wow.  I didn't know he was in that bad shape.  I knew he was playing comi-cons and such.  Some of the stuff after maiden was decent.  I saw an interview with him around 10+ years ago and he seemed desperate to do something with the current Maiden lineup.  Poor Paul.

I loved those first two also.  They are my favorite band.  I ignore the Blaze Bailey years.  Wasn't a fan of Fear of the Dark either.

he played a show in a small pub about 2-3 years ago and somebody in the audience said "bruce dickinson"... it didn't go over too well for paul or the fan who said it. he singled him out and then went on a drunken-shitfaced rant about bruce being a big huge faggot opera singing primadonna. i sensed some bitterness. LOL. but if you youtube him in 2015, you will see he weighs about 280 atleast and sits in wheelchair all the time. he cannot sing on queue and is out of key constantly. i read blabbermouth a lot and he pops up about twice a year when he does a show or publicity thing... the article is usually accompanied by a fanmade video of a horrible performance in a hybrid laundry mat/pub or a 2am slot after the headlining band and crew have already packed up and gone home. LOL

Seriously...Paul had some chops.  Not sure...other than drugs and alcohol why he didn't stick.  Nonetheless, Maiden wouldn't be what they are if he never got fired.

i heard it was cocaine/alcoholism, plus he was in jail a lot. he has since been in prison in foreign countries and has a rap sheet in many cities around the world. he is probably banned from entry to many places now. he could have started his own band in the early 80s and rivaled his old bandmates like how mustaine did with megadeth. instead he chose crime, violence, and hard drugs, and booze and fish and chips and fried chicken and pasta and more booze and fish and chips and pasta. meth too.
