from wiki

Camp Lockett was a United States Army military base located in Campo, California, east of San Diego, and north of the Mexican border
Prisoner of war camp established in 1944

Concurrent with activation of the convalescent hospital was the establishment of the prisoner of war camp in the 28th Cavalry Regiment area. The POW camp, a branch of the Riverside County Camp Haan, housed Italian and German prisoners of war, who worked in all phases of hospital operation, including services, maintenance, and construction

Wowza!

Yes.  Those who thought them betrayers would become more fervent in their belief.

I haven't, but was just looking at them and I'm intrigued.  Have you read any?

No, I was going to order them a few years ago but the shipping to Canada was way too high.  Totally forgot about them until now.

Swastikas were always a positive symbol until Hitler adopted it.  There are plenty of houses in my hometown that still have them in chimneys.

Another name he mentioned was Otto Skorzeny. I read his book titled "Hitler's Commando".

Yes.
But there was a hard core group that would follow him straight to hell. You weren't able to become a member of the S.S. until you proved yourself. The S.S. would be a type of group equivalent to religious fanatics. If you screwed up while you were in, you ended up as a casualty of war. That's if you made it in in the first place. Infiltrators into the S.S. were virtually non-existant. The S.S. was not a group that you just casually joined or were assigned to. You had to earn it and believe in it.

wasn't  he the paratrooper that saved Mussolini ?

My father had the 4 f in HS football they still wore metal cleats and someone stomped on his knee and tore it to shreds, he has lived with that his whole life. OF course he didn't have to go and come back in a body bag, which happened to his friends and others he knew.

RCH: "Can you limn out...?

Good word.  It fascinates me that RCH has a conversational knowledge of so many diverse subjects, as well as a much better than average vocabulary.  As far as I can determine, he has no academic credentials and is entirely self-taught.  Does anyone know differently?

I've never heard Lavenda before...this is a fantastic show so far.

That's the one. Mussolini was under arrest in the Italian Alps, the Gran Sasso, I believe. The event was filmed.
