I wonder if they ever went out carousing with Jar Jar.

Nobody liked Jar Jar Binks.

I think I'd rather see a Spaceballs sequel than a new Star Wars movie let alone three.

Especially after the last three.  Christopher Lee was the best thing about the last series of films.  Everything else was awful save for Yoda.  I hope the old cast has the majority of the screen time in the new film but my guess is they will be rather small appearances.  All Hollywood cares about is the young demographic.

When I finally watched the last one, and got to about the last third of it, I thought to myself how great the second series could have been, but it was too little too late at that point imho.

The fact that Sir Christopher Lee is still making movies like The Hobbit trilogy... and making heavy metal albums blows me away. The man is a true treasure.

I know. He has an incredible operatic voice. Hope he lives to be 100 at least.

Hayden Christenson in particular ruined it for me.  Anakin Skywalker should not have been played by a male model.  It needed a young version of the Anakin that we saw in Return of the Jedi.

I heard all three were coming out in a 17 month span with one being a stand alone movie with a whole different cast. They even realesed a pic of the new lightsaber which looked silly, and easy to cut ones own hand off with.

I forgot the name of the actor who played Anakin in the Return of the Jedi. Found it. Sebastian Shaw.

He will be 93 in May, and is still active. Hell, he was doing fight scenes in The Hobbit although he shot his stuff back in England due to long flights to New Zealand.

I like the multi-tool version.

Agreed .. except for his crack bout the 1980 classic Flash Gordon.  Love that silly movie.  And I'm sure there are at least 10 other folks who agree with me.
I'm pretty sure there is a youtube video of Brian Blessed yelling out "Yes!"

Did you ever read his biography, Tall, Dark and Gruesome?  He's had quite a life.  He was in RAF Intelligence during WW2.  He was basically a spy during the North African campaign.  He came from a family with quite a pedigree. His mother was an Italian Countess who had married a British Military Commander. She was apparently quite the Edwardian beauty.

The guest hasn't mentioned how Lucas got the battle scene of the Millenium Falcon vs. Tie Fighters almost frame for frame some old WWII flick.

He had a family member who was a pretty well known operatic singer too which explains why he went into singing himself. Plus as a fan of both Lee and Tolkien it should be noted that he is the only person involved in LotR/The Hobbit to have actually met Professor Tolkien, and has read Tolkien's work at least once a year for decades. I have yet to read his book, but will now.

I'm not sure, I'm too lazy to find it right now, but somewhere online there's a side-by-side match up that makes it obvious.

Hhah someone asked a Kirby question!

It's a good book and an easy read. I believe he talks about Tolkein in it.  It needs to be updated because I believe it was written just prior to his resurgence in the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars films. That's when I read it anyway.

The callers have deteriorated into an internet forum thread.

LucasArts!
Monkey Island...so much fun. Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle.

No Maniac Mansion talk? Shame on these people that is one of the best NES games.

Nick,

It seems that Lee did update the book a few years later in 2003 and retitled it Lord of Misrule.  Get that version. One of my favorite parts of the book is when he recounts his time with his neighbor and good friend, Boris Karloff.  I idolized Karloff as a kid. The epitome of the gentle and kind man. Actually I still adore Karloff.

Maybe one day he will let us hear his Jar Jar impersonation.

I always wanted Christopher Lee to do some audio dramas of HP Lovecraft stories.

Here is a fun one of him reading Dracula

Get it used.  The newer version is out of print but the old version is still in print.  Go figure!  You can get a used hardcover version for $9.50.

Nah, that's his favourite Star Trek character.  The big foot from Harry and the Hendersons is his favourite Star Wars character.
