Bill the AAA always has to call in to complain if some guest uses the words "god" or "soul"
Sounds like he would accept what they are saying if they just used a different word to describe the exact same thing?
Why can't Bill just accept the possiblity his own ideas are wrong?

Obsessive-compulsive disorder.  He can't let it go.

Bill from West Hartford says he's an amateur astronomer so he knows astrophysics.  I don't think that necessarily follows.

Dude I saw Saturn in my 'scope, therefore it follows that I know all those formulas as a direct result.  I could pretty much work out the math to just hop on over there if I wanted.

Sure, but you're a squirrel who has mastered texting.

Now we get one of Noory's bible thumping callers calling in on the weekend...

Morgus

Another frequent caller made it in just now, Annie in Alabama...

Heck that's nothing.  I can play Tetris too.

I agree 100% with you.  I liked the first 3 films but I'm not a fanboy. Actually I remember seeing the first film in the theater when I was 11 and I thought it was silly though I grew to like it in later viewings.  I thought C3P0 was a bit effeminate and paired with R2D2 , it was all too cutesy.  I hated Princess Leia's hairdo. Best things about the film were Guinness, Vader, and Ford.

The funny thing about C3PO is that if Anthony Daniels had straightened his arms out parts of the costume would have fallen off. So he had to play it stiff. There were also rumors Kenny Baker who was R2-D2 liked porn in his.

Juan Cena

I was kind of disappointed with the first guest tonight. The idea that the universe we perceive may just be a holographic projection of a two-dimensional universe has fascinated me since reading about the idea since I read about it in Warren Ellis' Planetary graphic novel series.

Tonight's discussion tended toward the metaphysical instead of the physics side.

Hope the Star Wars topic goes better.

But can you water-ski? That's what makes a squirrel exceptional.

Costume?  ???

In the origial it was a full costume, but that changed for the prequels.

Next you're going to tell me the light sabers weren't real  >:(.

Gassy Man

Hmm.  The guest has the British accent, so I suppose will be taken seriously, but he's already misspeaking.  The whole "used universe" thing existed before Star Wars, in films like 2001:  A Space Odyssey and Silent Running, which used a lot of the same special effects people.

I don't want to ruin it for anyone like Knapp along with his guest who is giving spoilers.

Nick el Ass

The best thing that could have happened to Star Wars is George Lucas selling it to Disney.

omg what a cool bumper, Starship Trooper from Yes.  Knapp rockin' it.

Sadly it's become rather commonplace these days.  But just wait till you see me with my jetpack.

Wondering when we'll get to that old awkward subject of "Lumpy".

I bet there was Vaseline and Kleenex in there too.  :P

I forgot to say that I loved Peter Cushing in the first film.  I wish his role was expanded and I also didn't want o see him die. I'm a big Hammer horror fan and it was nice to see him doing something a bit different.

Nick el Ass

Cushing and Lee both played big rolls in Star Wars, and were good friends.

Speaking of cute.  Here's a cute little animal that looks like an Ewok.

The Ili Pika

I think this Star Wars guest it pretty good.

Nick el Ass

I think I'd rather see a Spaceballs sequel than a new Star Wars movie let alone three.

They made a shitload of movies together.  They first appeared in the same movie way back in Laurence Olivier's Hamlet which won The Academy Award's Best Picture of 1948.  I'm a movie buff that loves the old classics going back to the silent era.  I first started watching movies on a black and white TV so black and white doesn't bother me at all.  In some cases, especially in noir, it enhances the experience.

I wonder if they ever went out carousing with Jar Jar.

The fact that Sir Christopher Lee is still making movies like The Hobbit trilogy... and making heavy metal albums blows me away. The man is a true treasure.

Agreed .. except for his crack bout the 1980 classic Flash Gordon.  Love that silly movie.  And I'm sure there are at least 10 other folks who agree with me.
